THE OPPORTUNITY
We are seeking a detail-oriented, technically strong Revenue Manager to join our Finance team. You will own end-to-end revenue recognition under ASC 606 / US GAAP, lead month-end close, and ensure accurate, timely revenue reporting. Partnering closely with Sales, Legal, FP&A, Billing, and external auditors, you will bring rigorous technical accounting judgment and a process-improvement mindset to a fast-paced close environment.
What You Do:
- Revenue accounting & reconciliations: journal entries across revenue, deferred revenue, unbilled receivables, and contract assets/liabilities, with balance-sheet reconciliations resolved within the close calendar.
- Technical accounting memos & position papers: documented conclusions on variable consideration, principal versus agent, contract modifications, and financing components.
- Revenue schedules & ASC 606 disclosures: disaggregation of revenue, remaining performance obligations (RPO), and contract balances for management, Board, and annual financial reporting.
- Flux & variance analysis: month-over-month, quarter-over-quarter, and budget-versus-actual commentary for leadership.
- End-to-end billing: accurate, timely invoicing across subscription, usage-based, milestone, and time-and-materials models, reconciled to the revenue schedule.
- Audit & SOX support: PBC schedules, walkthroughs, and SOX 404 control evidence delivered on schedule.
TECHNICAL SCOPE
- ASC 606 five-step model applied across SaaS subscriptions, licenses, professional services, usage-based, and multi-element arrangements.
- Contract analysis: identifying performance obligations, determining standalone selling price (SSP), allocating transaction price, and establishing recognition timing, with ongoing SSP maintenance.
- Complex judgments: variable consideration (expected-value and most-likely-amount methods with constraint analysis), rights of return, material rights, significant financing components, and non-cash consideration.
- ASC 340-40 contract costs: capitalization and amortization of sales commissions and costs to fulfill, including amortization-period and impairment assessments.
- Contract combinations & modifications: assessing separate-contract, prospective, and cumulative catch-up treatment.
- Principal versus agent: gross-versus-net conclusions for reseller and partner revenue streams.
- Order-to-cash & indirect tax: sales tax, VAT/GST, and withholding considerations coordinated with Tax, alongside billing-to-revenue reconciliation, true-ups, and dispute resolution.
- Systems: ERP platforms (NetSuite, Oracle, SAP, or Workday), revenue automation tools (Salesforce CPQ or equivalent), and advanced Excel.

- Technical Accounting: Deep, demonstrable expertise in ASC 606 revenue recognition and US GAAP.
- Close Ownership: Hands-on experience leading or owning month-end close cycles, journal entries, reconciliations, and management reporting deliverables.
- Contract Acumen: Strong understanding of complex contract structures and ability to translate contractual terms into accounting outcomes.
