Position Summary

The Billing Manager will lead the billing operations for a Global part of the Zeta business,

ensuring accurate and timely invoicing, compliance with local and international accounting standards, and

adherence to contractual requirements. This role will oversee the end-to-end billing process through a team based in Hyderabad and act as a key liaison between regional finance, sales, legal, operations and collections teams.

 

Key Responsibilities

Billing Operations & Management

  • Oversee end-to-end billing processes for multiple countries, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with contractual terms and local tax regulations.
  • Manage the monthly invoicing cycle, credit notes, adjustments, and reconciliations.
  • Review and approve complex billing cases, pricing changes, and non-standard agreements.
  • Partner with FP&A and accounting teams for month-end close, accruals, and reporting.
  • Drive simplification and efficiency in all processes whilst conforming to SOX regulations.

Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of billing analysts and specialists in Hyderabad.
  • Set performance goals, monitor productivity, and implement process improvement initiatives.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and customer focus.

Process Improvement & Automation

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance billing accuracy, efficiency, and system automation.
  • Collaborate with IT and system administrators to maintain and improve billing systems
  • Implement controls and audits to minimize billing errors.

Stakeholder & Regional Coordination

  • Work closely with the relevant regional finance leads, sales operations, and legal teams to ensure
  • contract compliance and customer satisfaction.
  • Support customer queries, audits, and escalations related to billing and collections.
  • Provide management reports and insights into billing performance and KPIs

Compliance & Governance

  • Ensure compliance with local tax laws, SOX controls, and internal audit requirements.
  • Liaise with internal and external auditors during audit cycles.
  • Maintain documentation and standard operating procedures (SOPs).

 

 

Qualifications & Experience

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or Commerce required.
  • MBA, CA (Inter/Final) qualification preferred.

Experience:

  • 7+ years of progressive experience in billing, with at least 3+ years in a managerial role.
  • Experience of managing global billing operations and familiarity with regional tax/VAT laws.
  • Hands-on experience with enterprise billing/ERP systems

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong leadership and people management capabilities.
  • Self-motivated and driven.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and process improvement skills.
  • Ideally, some level of proficiency in languages (French, Spanish, German).
  • Good understanding of SaaS operating models
  • Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems including Workday / NetSuite
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, especially across global teams.
  • High levels of attention to detail and standards of accuracy.
  • Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with reporting/BI tools.

Skills Required
