Manager, IoT Connectivity & Operations

As we continue to accelerate our digital transformation, we are looking for a Manager, IoT Connectivity & Operations to build and lead a newly established team responsible for the connectivity infrastructure that powers our portfolio of connected water solutions.

The Role

As the Manager, IoT Connectivity & Operations, you will establish and lead a new team focused on IoT connectivity solutions and operations. Acting as the bridge between device development, cloud platforms, and digital applications, you will drive the strategy and execution of connectivity services across our connected product ecosystem.

You will own the connectivity domain, including gateway requirements, telecommunications partnerships, fleet management of connected devices, and cloud backend operations supporting remote connectivity services. Your leadership will help create a unified and scalable connectivity framework across multiple digital solutions, improving efficiency, reliability, and customer experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build, lead, and develop a high-performing team responsible for IoT connectivity solutions, gateway management, and connectivity operations.

  • Define and drive the connectivity strategy across Xylem's Water Infrastructure digital solutions, ensuring scalable and standardized approaches.

  • Own gateway requirements and collaborate with product and engineering teams to align device capabilities with business and customer needs.

  • Manage relationships with telecommunications providers, including SIM lifecycle management, connectivity performance, and cost optimization.

  • Oversee fleet management of connected gateway devices, including deployment, monitoring, software updates, and lifecycle management.

  • Lead the operation and evolution of cloud-based connectivity services, ensuring security, scalability, reliability, and performance.

  • Partner with Product Management, R&D, Cloud Engineering, Cybersecurity, and Operations teams to deliver end-to-end connectivity solutions.

  • Drive continuous improvement by evaluating emerging connectivity technologies and identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency, reliability, and customer value.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.

  • Proven leadership experience in IoT connectivity, telecommunications, device management, or cloud operations.

  • Strong understanding of cellular connectivity technologies and industrial IoT environments.

  • Experience with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure, AWS, or similar.

  • Knowledge of industrial communication protocols and remote access solutions.

  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence across technical and business functions.

  • Understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices for connected products and IoT ecosystems.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience managing global connectivity deployments and telecom provider relationships.

  • Background in device fleet management and large-scale IoT operations.

  • Familiarity with edge computing and connected industrial equipment.

  • Experience building and scaling teams in a growing technology organization.
