The Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) is a statutory body established in 1966 to promote, assist and develop Hong Kong's trade. With 51 offices globally, including 13 in the Chinese Mainland, the HKTDC promotes Hong Kong as a two-way global investment and business hub.

The HKTDC organises international exhibitions, conferences and business missions to create business opportunities for companies, particularly small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), in the mainland and international markets. The Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), the statutory organisation promoting Hong Kong’s external trade, seeks a dynamic, high-calibre and experienced marketing professional to join our Team.


Responsibilities:

The appointee will assist in planning, managing, and driving marketing and promotional programmes in Hong Kong and Chinese Mainland and coordinating with both internal and external parties, including:

  • Organising promotional activities in relation to Chinese Mainland, including projects that will be co-organised with bureaux / departments that directly report to the Central Government;
  • Establishing networks and collaborations with counterpart trade promotion organisations in Hong Kong and Chinese Mainland;
  • Organising high-level business missions to the Chinese Mainland; assist Hong Kong enterprises to explore new business opportunities;
  • Receiving incoming business delegations from provinces and providing support to their trade promotional activities in Hong Kong;
  • Working with TDC branch offices in Chinese Mainland to organise outreach seminars, networking activities, workshops targeting Chinese Mainland enterprises and etc;
  • Setting up Hong Kong Image Promotion Pavilions at trade fairs in Chinese Mainland;
  • Conducting market research and gathering trade and industry intelligence of Chinese Mainland.

Requirements:   

  • A recognized university degree with at least 8 years solid working preferably with sizable organisations, in any of the following areas: event organisation; project management; public / corporate relations; solid working experiences with overseas officials is an advantage;
  • Strong understanding of Hong Kong's economy, trade and business arena covering various Hong Kong industries as well as potential business opportunities for Hong Kong companies;
  • Thorough understanding of international and China's economic and political landscape, good knowledge about international and China markets, overseas Governments and business protocol;
  • Fluent in Putonghua, Chinese and English with excellent command of written Chinese and English for speeches, promotional materials and etc;
  • Superior skills in marketing and communication;
  • A strong team player with excellent organisational and interpersonal skills;
  • Self-motivated, outgoing with good project planning ability;
  • Innovative, flexible and be able to deliver under time and resource pressure.

Remuneration and Benefits:

The successful candidate will be appointed on a fixed-term contract basis, renewable subject to operational needs. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Skills Required

  • Recognized university degree
  • At least 8 years solid working experience in event organisation, project management, or public/corporate relations
  • Experience with sizable organisations
  • Experience working with overseas officials
  • Strong understanding of Hong Kongs economy, trade and business landscape
  • Thorough understanding of international and Chinas economic and political landscape, and knowledge of international and China markets and government/business protocol
  • Fluent in Putonghua, Chinese and English with excellent written command for speeches and promotional materials
  • Superior marketing and communication skills
  • Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills; strong team player
  • Self-motivated, outgoing with good project planning ability
