Financial Crime Risk (FCR) is a Group enterprise function which sits within the ERM division and provides expert advice and is accountable for the effective management of financial crime obligations and emerging risks across the AMP Group including AML/CTF, Sanctions, Fraud and Scams, Anti-Bribery and Corruption (ABC) and foreign tax reporting (FATCA/CRS) domains

The Manager - Intelligence, Monitoring & Analytics, Financial Crime Risk is responsible for delivering high-quality financial crime intelligence that strengthens AMP’s ability to proactively identify, understand and manage financial crime risk in line with AML/CTF obligations.

The role plays a critical part in enhancing detection capability by providing timely, actionable insights on emerging threats, scam typologies and risk indicators. These insights inform transaction monitoring approaches, control uplift and enterprise-wide risk assessments, supporting more effective, intelligence-led decision-making

Through specialist expertise and informed judgement, you will support stronger control effectiveness, consistent customer risk outcomes and reduced regulatory exposure, while influencing stakeholders across a high-performance Line 2 risk environment
 

How will you make an impact

Threat Intelligence & Risk Integration

  • Develop and enhance financial crime intelligence capability using AUSTRAC guidance, industry intelligence and internal data sources 
  • Conduct horizon scanning, trend analysis and thematic reviews to identify emerging threats, typologies and risk indicators 
  • Translate intelligence into actionable insights that inform transaction monitoring, control design and enterprise risk assessments 
  • Identify gaps between emerging risks and existing controls, recommending enhancements to maintain effectiveness and regulatory alignment 
  • Collaborate with Line 1, analytics and assurance teams to embed intelligence into operational processes and decision-making

Customer Risk Advisory & Intelligence Application

  • Provide intelligence-led, risk-based advice on customer risk informed by behavioural analysis and emerging typologies 
  • Assess customer risk profiles to support escalation, monitoring, investigations and enhanced due diligence 
  • Contribute to complex and high-risk matters with proportionate, risk-aligned recommendations 
  • Deliver structured intelligence reporting, translating technical outputs into clear, risk-focused insights 
  • Support regulatory engagement with evidence-based intelligence and threat monitoring outputs

Industry Engagement & External Intelligence


  • Represent AMP in industry forums and regulatory engagements, contributing subject matter expertise on emerging financial crime risks 
  • Maintain proactive internal engagement to uplift awareness of supervisory priorities and emerging threats 
  • Leverage external intelligence to inform detection capability uplift, strategy and control effectiveness

Governance, Committees & Reporting

  • Contribute to governance forums and management committees, including Financial Crime Risk and Board-level reporting
  • Support AML/CTF, Sanctions and FATCA reporting, ensuring accuracy, consistency and appropriate escalation
  • Contribute to enterprise reporting, metrics and internal communications across financial crime risk
  • Translate regulatory change and technical outputs into clear, actionable insights for senior stakeholders

What you will bring to the role 

  • 5+ years’ experience in financial crime, AML/CTF, intelligence or related risk roles within financial services 
  • Strong financial crime intelligence experience, including identifying emerging risks, trends and typologies from internal and external sources 
  • Proven analytical capability to assess behaviours, trends and risk indicators to identify anomalies and inform intelligence-led risk assessments 
  • Ability to translate intelligence into actionable outcomes that inform monitoring, control uplift and risk mitigation 
  • Strong understanding of AML/CTF regulatory frameworks and risk-based application of obligations
  • Qualifications
  • Relevant degree in Business, Commerce, Finance, Law, Risk, Governance, Compliance, Information Security or related field

You engage confidently with stakeholders across business, risk, analytics and support functions to inform decision-making. 

You have a curious, detail-oriented and collaborative mindset, with the adaptability to operate effectively in a dynamic and evolving risk environment while maintaining strong control outcomes.
