This position will be a hybrid work arrangement, which translates to 2-3 days minimum per week in the office.
The IT Manager is responsible for the oversight of deliverables and performance of the Fund & Investment Administration (FIA) Reporting Team. They work with peers and their direct reports to continuously improve the outcomes of the Platform via refinement of the documentation artifacts, business engagement, and delivery practices of the team. The IT Manager possesses demonstrated leadership skills, is an active thought partner and application innovator who shapes the technology demand among the business community.
The ideal candidate is someone who is:
- Confident self-starter capable of setting plans, driving projects to completion.
- A team leader with experience leading Agile development and support teams.
- Excellent facilitation and interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal, including experience translating technical concepts and decisions to non-technical staff.
- Experienced with financial services, accounting, and investments, ideally within Private Equity.
- Strong attention to detail, focus on execution of tasks, and adaptability to meet changing timelines and priorities.
What you will do:
- Partner with other IT Platform Owners and Business Product Owners to prioritize backlogs, refine roadmaps, and maintain dependencies between Fund & Investment applications.
- Lead a platform support team consisting of Business Analysts, Developers and QA Testers.
- Manage third party software vendors that provide application support; Collaborate with support partners to mature Application Managed Services model.
- Act as an intermediary between the business and the technical community working with project teams and business partner to collect, clarify, and translate business requests into documentation and conceptual design (using appropriate tools and models) from which applications and solutions are developed.
- Manage the prioritized build and run activities for the FIA Reporting team.
- Develop and present monthly platform metrics and roadmaps to stakeholders and Senior Management.
What you bring:
- Ability to be hands on with troubleshooting production incidents and execution of value delivery.
- Experience with Agile frameworks including Scrum and Kanban.
- Previous experience as a people leader required.
- A data driven approach and ability to use data to drive process improvement.
- Experience with financial applications; including experience leading critical transactional or reporting applications.
- Experience with vendor management.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, facilitation, and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word, Visio).
Education Preferred:
- Bachelor of Science (B.S) or equivalent experience
Experience:
- 5-8 Years of experience within the financial services industry, with minimum three years in management preferred.
