The Indirect Tax Manager takes ownership of indirect tax function, Sales & Use Tax, and Property Tax. This role is responsible for a well-controlled and consistent environment and overall leadership of the indirect tax function for the company.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES - ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Responsible for ensuring S&U tax compliance in all registered states for submission of returns and payments by the team
- Completion of monthly account reconciliations for S&U tax accounts are completed, reviewed and reconciling items cleared by the team in a timely manner
- Manage indirect tax audits and respond timely to tax notices and inquiries
- Manage renewal and application of business licenses, leasing licenses, and corporate registrations with respective secretary of state offices utilizing a third party as required
- Work closely and well with the License & Title team and other areas as required
- Ensure all property tax renditions are filed timely and assessments are confirmed and property tax invoices are processed promptly and appropriately billed to the client
- Provide leadership and support to sales/use, property, and other non-income tax-based staff
- Function as local SME for all matters indirect tax, working as needed with outside advisors
- Represent the business as a tax committee member of American Automotive Leasing Association
- Liaise with internal and external audit for all indirect taxation matters
- Other duties, as assigned
LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES:
- This position manages a staff of up to 14 employees
COMPETENCIES - SKILLS:
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work in a PC Windows environment
- Excellent knowledge of spreadsheet and PC applications
- Customer Service focused
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or Business
- CPA preferred
- 6-8 years of tax experience with an accounting firm or in a corporate tax department
- Experience in tax research, compliance, and audits for Sales and property tax is required
- 3-5 years of staff management experience

Pay Range:
$105,000-$147,000The base salary range for this position is listed above. This position is eligible to participate in the annual incentive plan which is based on company performance and individual performance. Compensation ranges are based on several factors including job function, level, and geographic location. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including candidate experience, education, certifications, skill level and expertise, and may vary from the amounts listed here.
