Job Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and manage multiple teams of IT professionals, including entry and mid-level managers and development team members
- Define and drive the technology roadmap for a specific technology function that aligns to a business unit or technology function.
- Provide leadership and direction to the development teams, ensuring alignment with the organization’s strategic goals.
- Collaborate with Senior IT Leadership to identify and prioritize key development initiatives that will drive business growth and innovation.
- Stay informed of industry trends and emerging technologies, assessing their potential impact on the organization and incorporating relevant innovations into the development strategy.
Operational Management
- Oversee the end-to-end software development lifecycle (SDLC), ensuring that work is delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
- Implement and optimize development processes, tools, and methodologies to increase efficiency and quality.
- Ensure all development work adheres to high standards of security, performance, and compliance with industry regulations.
- Manage and resolve escalated technical issues, providing expert guidance and support to the development teams.
- Manage roadmaps, timelines, budgets, and resources for the teams and technologies within your scope.
Technical Leadership
- Provide advanced technical oversight and guidance, ensuring that all application development efforts align with the organization’s technical strategy.
- Lead the evaluation, selection, and implementation of new technologies, processes, and platforms that will enhance the organization’s development capabilities.
- Ensure the scalability, reliability, and maintainability of all software applications through rigorous code reviews, testing, and quality assurance processes.
- Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the development teams, encouraging the adoption of best practices and new technologies.
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead and mentor a team of IT managers and development team members, fostering a high-performance culture that emphasizes collaboration, accountability, and professional growth.
- Ensure team members are continuously enhancing their skills and capabilities by following training and development programs.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations, providing constructive feedback, coaching, and career development opportunities for team members.
- Influence talent acquisition and retention efforts to ensure the organization has the technical expertise needed to achieve its strategic goals.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Act as the primary liaison between the IT development teams and business stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and alignment on outcomes and priorities.
- Collaborate with business leaders to understand their needs and translate them into effective technical solutions that drive business value.
- Present development strategies, progress updates, and key performance metrics to leadership and other key stakeholders.
- Foster strong relationships with external vendors and partners, ensuring that their contributions align with the organization’s goals and standards.

Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and/or related professional work experience.
- 10+ years of experience in software engineering, with 5 or more years in a leadership or management role.
- Proven experience in managing large-scale, complex software development initiatives, with a strong track record of delivering successful outcomes.
- Experience in strategic planning and execution within a large IT organization.
- Proficient understanding of multiple programming languages and development frameworks, with a strong understanding of software architecture and design principles.
- Extensive experience with cloud computing platforms, microservice architecture, and DevOps practices.
- Strong understanding of enterprise-level application development, including large-scale system integrations and data management.
- Proven ability to lead the adoption of new technologies and methodologies, driving innovation and continuous improvement within development teams.
- Exceptional leadership and people management skills, with a demonstrated ability to build and lead high-performing teams in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong strategic thinking and decision-making abilities, with a focus on delivering long-term value to the business.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a focus on delivering value to the business.
- Ability to manage complex initiatives and programs with experience in handling budget and resource allocation.
- Knowledge of the financial services or insurance industry and the various regulations within that space.

Compensation may vary based on the job level, your geographic work location, position incentive plan and exemption status.
Base Salary Range:
$148,900.00 - $223,400.00
