Job Purpose:

This position provides leadership, coaching, and training to a team of staff. This position is responsible for independently gathering, analyzing, and reporting multi-faceted investment data. This position is also responsible for maintaining accuracy of complex accounting systems, monitoring portfolio compliance and trade settlement, and playing a lead role in managing projects. Participates in and contributes toward the development of the investment operation's investment processes and policies that achieve the objectives of investment operations.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Takes a lead role and independently:
  • Gathers, analyzes, and reports investment performance data
  • Identifies and resolves significant problems in a timely manner
  • Determines need for and creates analytical reports
  • Maintains accuracy and integrity of complex applications, systems, and databases
  • Calculates and analyzes investment performance and/or forecasting investment income
  • Reconciles information from various investment management systems
  • Prepares modeling of various securities or information
  • Monitors portfolio compliance and trade settlement process
  • Performs the month-end closing process
  • Researches and resolves complex issues related security transactions or processes
  • Produces ad-hoc reports of information from various sources
  • Leads special projects and prepares custom analyses for clients and management
  • Acts as a technical expert in operations processes, procedures and technology
  • Continually looks for ways to automate and streamline processes and procedures; works independently to determine solutions.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of investment strategies and tactics within the function.
  • Maintain and foster effective relationships at all levels both within and outside of the company with senior leaders, portfolio managers, traders, research, analysts and Wall Street.
  • Provide back-up analytical and accounting support to other investment classes as needed.
  • Leadership:
  • Leadership/Coaching: Provides day-to-day leadership and supervision to team members.
  • Inspires team to focus on adherence to TruStage policies and processes.
  • Fosters a positive work environment.
  • Develops and maintains productive working relationship with team members.
  • Career Development/Performance & Dialogue: Sets goals and standards of performance for team which are linked to business goals; uses appropriate measurement methods to monitor progress; takes suitable accountability for successful completion of assignments or tasks.
  • Provides on-going dialogue to team members about their performance.
  • Coaches and helps establish individual development and career plans.
  • Prepares employee performance appraisals and merit recommendations.
  • Communication:
  • Informs team of changes, potential changes and other pertinent information affecting the department.
  • Plans, coordinates and conducts meetings to discuss operational procedures and provide on-going training to the team as needed.
  • Supports the dissemination of TruStage corporate-wide and Center-specific communications on-site.

Job Requirements:

  • Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, Mathematics, Economics or related field; graduate degree, CPA, CFA or similar designation strongly preferred.
  • 7-10 years progressively responsible investment operations experience to include comprehensive knowledge of investment securities, investment accounting, operations, and the use of technology
  • Demonstrated strong analytical skills and ability to work independently.
  • Ability to mentor more junior analysts.
  • Ability to build long-term relationships at all levels with co-workers and internal/external clients. Proven skill in negotiating, influencing and willingness to involve others in the decision-making process. Ability to clearly communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Achievement orientation demonstrated by a long track record of leadership, solid judgment, high performance and achievement of target results.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Bloomberg and other investment management systems as well as the MS Office suite.

Base Salary Range:

$98,200.00 - $147,400.00
