About the role and team

Leading at Uber means setting direction in motion, not waiting for perfect conditions. As an Account Management Lead for the Eats SMB team, you will build and lead high-performing teams in an environment where the answers aren’t always clear and the stakes for our merchant partners are high. You will own the commercial strategy for your territory, making hard calls under pressure to ensure we win selection street by street.

This role is about more than just hitting a quota; it is about building long-term partnerships in a fast-changing environment. You will need to balance empathy for your team and partners with the steady action required to move the business forward. If you are a resilient, resourceful leader who thrives when solving the messy reality of real-world problems, this is where you will make your mark.

This role will be based in New York, following the hybrid schedule (Tues-Thurs in office).

What you’ll do

  • Lead and coach a team of Account Managers to build trusted relationships with restaurant partners and co-create growth plans that deliver real value.
  • Navigate ambiguity and internal complexity to unblock growth opportunities, managing trade-offs between short-term targets and long-term partner health.
  • Own your team’s regional performance by inspecting pipeline health and dashboards, course-correcting quickly when shifting priorities create pressure points.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Marketing, and Product teams to influence solutions that scale and remove blockers for our merchants.
  • Drive the adoption of new products and marketing tools across your territory, making fast, thoughtful decisions even when information is imperfect.
  • Manage a complex portfolio with discipline and urgency, ensuring your team remains resilient through tough negotiations and evolving workflows.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in Account Management or Sales.
  • 1+ year of experience in a people management or team lead role.
  • Experience in client-facing roles or leading teams with direct customer responsibility.
  • Experience managing stakeholders across multiple functional areas.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proven track record of coaching sellers and building high-performing teams in rapid-growth environments.
  • Proficiency in using data analysis to inform strategic decision-making and practical recommendations.
  • Experience working with CRM tools like Salesforce to manage pipelines and forecasts.
  • Strong systems thinking skills with the ability to build and address commercial processes.
  • Experience in B2B tech sales or the hospitality and restaurant industry.
