Detailed Description:
Lead HSE performance and field support for multiple oil and gas drilling rigs across the Permian Basin, with consistent, purpose-driven field presence.
Manage, coach, develop, and hold HSE Advisors and Senior HSE Advisors accountable for field execution, communication, follow-up, and performance expectations.
Build team capability by mentoring HSE Advisors into Senior HSE Advisors and future supervisors so field ownership is shared and the HSE Manager remains focused on regional performance, accountability, and operational excellence.
Delegate work clearly, follow up with discipline, set high expectations, and ensure assigned actions are completed in a timely and effective manner.
Demonstrate courageous leadership by professionally challenging unsafe decisions, influencing Operations Managers and Drilling Superintendents, partnering with Technical Services and Human Resources, and standing firm on Company standards and risk controls.
Partner with Operations Managers, Drilling Superintendents, Technical Services, Human Resources, crews, and customers to align HSE support with regional and Company goals.
Initiate and foster productive customer relationships; speak confidently in front of customers and represent the Company with professionalism, credibility, and urgency.
Oversee on-site rig inspections, field observations, audits, and gap analyses; conduct follow-up reviews to verify closure of findings and sustained improvement.
Drive policy compliance, procedural discipline, and process improvements across drilling rig operations while identifying gaps, trends, and leading indicators.
Conduct and lead incident investigations, root-cause analysis, and corrective-action planning based on findings, operational risk, and customer expectations.
Use HSE data, rig activity, labor needs, and business priorities to recommend staffing, coverage, and resource decisions that support safe and efficient operations.
React quickly to market swings, rig count changes, customer expectations, and operational demands while maintaining consistent standards and team alignment.
Prepare clear written reports, presentations, action plans, dashboards, and customer-ready updates that include trends, graphs, performance metrics, and follow-up status.
Support New to Industry, Employee Safety Orientation, field-level training, emergency response preparation, and other HSE training programs.
Provide additional rig support and visible leadership as necessary to ensure personnel safety, efficiency in operations, customer satisfaction, and Company performance.
Prioritize and manage multiple tasks, projects, investigations, and customer needs simultaneously in a fast-paced field environment.
Work independently, make sound and timely decisions, and maintain a continuously safe working environment for employees, customers, and third parties.
Job Requirements:
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with coworkers, direct reports, Operations Managers, Drilling Superintendents, Technical Services, Human Resources, customers, and third parties.
Ability to speak professionally in front of customers and internal leadership groups, including presenting HSE performance, action plans, data trends, and improvement opportunities.
Ability to collect, analyze, and communicate HSE performance data using the Company’s Incident Management System, Excel, Python, or similar data and visualization tools.
Ability to develop professional reports, presentations, dashboards, Excel charts, and customer-ready materials using Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Ability to lead by example in the field and maintain a consistent, purpose-driven presence at drilling rig locations.
Ability to build effective relationships and teams while managing a large, field-based group, including developing employees, prioritizing work, assigning responsibilities, measuring results, and addressing performance issues.
Ability to have direct and difficult conversations with employees, supervisors, and operations leaders when safety, procedural discipline, or performance expectations are not being met.
Ability to understand the business side of labor, including staffing needs, field coverage, cost awareness, and alignment of HSE resources with rig activity. · Ability to maintain focus, self-motivation, change agility, and manager-level discipline while leading through Senior HSE Advisors, aligning the team around regional HSE priorities, customer expectations, employee development, and operational excellence.

Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED.
Minimum of seven (7) years of HSE experience in oil and gas, with direct experience supporting drilling rig operations and working knowledge of HSE policies, procedural discipline, incident investigation, corrective-action management, process improvement, and gap analysis.
Minimum of three (3) years of prior experience in a manager or supervisor role, including direct responsibility for managing large or geographically dispersed field teams, setting expectations, delegating work, following up, and managing performance.
Eligible to drive for Company business using a personally owned vehicle, including the ability to meet the Company's Driving Policy and Vehicle reimbursement program requirements, maintain an acceptable driving record, and complete required annual motor vehicle record reviews.
Must be willing and able to relocate within forty-five (45) miles of the Midland office within ninety (90) days of accepting an offer.
Preferred Qualifications:
Four-year college degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Safety Management, Environmental Science, Industrial Safety, Engineering, or a similar safety-related or oil and gas-related field.
Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Associate Safety Professional (ASP), Graduate Safety Practitioner (GSP), Occupational Hygiene and Safety Technician (OHST), Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST), or similar safety-related professional credential.
Medical, occupational health, emergency medical response, rig medic, EMT, or similar medical support experience.
Prior HSE leadership experience in the Permian Basin or comparable oil and gas drilling environment.
