About the role -
We're looking for a Payroll Lead to own end-to-end payroll delivery across our one of our key regions globally. You'll manage a team, run high-volume multi-country payroll operations, safeguard compliance across diverse jurisdictions, and act as a senior point of contact for clients. The ideal candidate is a hands-on problem solver who raises the bar on accuracy and process, leads people well, and is comfortable using AI and automation to scale operations.
What you’ll do -
Payroll delivery (high-volume, multi-country)
- Own monthly, semi-monthly, and off-cycle payroll operations across the multiple countries, ensuring accurate and timely processing at scale.
- Manage large-volume payroll across multiple countries, currencies, and pay frequencies through the appropriate channels.
- Identify and implement automation and AI-driven initiatives to improve speed, accuracy, and efficiency.
People management
- Lead, coach, and develop a regional payroll team, setting clear standards and priorities.
- Manage capacity, workload, and SLAs across the team; support growth and performance.
Compliance and reporting
- Ensure statutory dues — taxes, social security, and other contributions — are filed accurately and on time across all in-scope jurisdictions.
- Ensure required documents are delivered to employees and authorities on schedule.
- Act as SPOC for internal and external audits.
Client handling
- Serve as a senior point of contact for clients, resolving queries within SLA and building trust.
- Prepare and validate client reports, including variance, department/location-wise data, and comparative payroll summaries.
- Enable CSM, Sales, and Finance teams with the knowledge they need to support BAU activities.
Vendor coordination and process
- Coordinate with vendor and partner teams to set up, review, and reconcile payrolls.
- Track vendor performance, lead root-cause analysis on issues, and drive preventive measures.
- Support payroll and entity setup, data testing, salary calculator configuration, and documentation.
Who you are:
- Payroll expertise: Deep knowledge of payroll processes and practices, including tax and compliance, with minimum 6 and maximum of 10 years in payroll delivery.
- Multi-country, high-volume: Proven experience running large-volume payroll across multiple countries — ideally across Europe and the Americas.
- People management: Experience leading and developing a payroll team.
- Compliance: Strong command of statutory compliance and the ability to engage regulatory bodies and multiple vendors.
- Client handling: Excellent stakeholder and client management skills; clear, compelling communicator.
- Problem solver: Strong analytical skills, able to spot risks and impacts and drive corrective action.
- AI-comfortable: Practical interest in using AI and automation to improve payroll operations.
- Ownership: High attention to detail, comfortable managing competing priorities with minimal supervision, and a go-getter attitude grounded in accountability.
