This position will involve assisting in the delivery of the Firm’s Fund Solutions and Restructuring services based in Mumbai and/or Delhi. Typical assignments will include participating in fund and restructuring advisory, asset wind down support and asset management projects. 

Our Fund Solutions and Restructuring professionals serve as financial advisors to fund managers, companies, financial sponsors, lenders, creditors and other interested parties in special and distressed situations across virtually every industry and every situation throughout the business life cycle. 

As a VP/Manager, Fund Solutions, you will be responsible for supporting complex fund liquidation and wind-down engagements across jurisdictions. This role will be based in India and will collaborate closely with global teams in the U.S., Europe, and APAC to manage, lead and deliver high-quality solutions to asset managers, fund administrators, and institutional investors navigating end-of-life fund scenarios. In addition to training junior staff members, the successful candidate will work on a range of assignments including supporting the global teams including management of fund operations (mainly in End Of Fund Life situations for global funds) such as accounting, taxation, legal and investor relations. You will also work on asset management, financial analysis, NAV workings and exit related strategies for such funds. The candidate will support the growth of the Fund Solutions and Restructuring business in the Asia & EMEA region. 

Navigating Responsibilities:

  • Coordinating and working with multiple teams across Kroll to ensure deadlines are met and proactively communicate progress/updates with external stakeholders.
  • Review the work of the junior team members, coordinate and manage workflow amongst the team and ensure timely delivery of the projects.
  • Understanding public and private databases like Pitchbook, Preqin and Capital IQ is a plus.
  • Review fund documentation (LPAs, IMs, governing documents) to identify constraints and obligations.
  • Draft and present liquidation strategy memos, investor updates, and board-level communications.
  • Oversee the efficient and timely progression of a portfolio of Fund Solutions and Restructuring projects.
  • Communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Understanding of valuation concepts 
  • Strong hold on accounting and financial concepts.
  • Prior exposures to fund structures, such as master/feeder, management fee, carry etc. is preferred
  • Ability to interpret and apply foreign rules, regulations and laws is a plus. Ability to work in regulated environments like SEC, Cayman, Mauritius etc.
  • Build and maintain professional relationships with fund managers, financial sponsors, creditors, asset agents and solicitors.

  • Ability to lead a team consisting of Senior Associates and Analysts. 
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and work on multiple assignments
  • Ability to manage rapidly changing assignments and work well under pressure.
  • Strong team player and work in a team environment, across multiple mandates.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to assess and manage risk, deal with ambiguity and understand the commercial drivers of the outcomes of our work
  • Relevant degree, achieving 2:1 or equivalent. 
  • At least 6 to 7 years’ relevant experience.

  • A relevant accounting or investment qualification is preferred 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
