The role
We are seeking an experienced Manager to lead our Manila-based Financial Reporting team, which supports our EMEA, APAC, and LATAM regions. This is a dual-focused role: you will provide hands-on leadership and day-to-day oversight for our Manila-based accountants, while also owning end-to-end statutory financial statement preparation for a portfolio of Netflix entities. We are looking for a hands-on leader who embodies exceptional judgment, adaptability, selflessness, and resilience, and who will drive the strategic scaling of our team while championing innovation and continuous improvement across all accounting areas.
What you’ll do:
Team Leadership & Stakeholder Management
Provide strong leadership and day-to-day oversight for the Manila-based Financial Reporting team
Cultivate an inclusive, high-performing culture that encourages collaboration, growth, and continuous learning
Mentor, coach, and develop accountants on the team, fostering their professional development and career progression
Collaborate closely with EMEA, APAC and LATAM financial reporting leaders, ensuring strong alignment between the Manila-based Financial Reporting team’s work and overall Financial Reporting strategy
Manage stakeholder expectations and provide regular updates on team performance, initiatives, and challenges
Drive and support the team to identify opportunities for process optimisation, standardisation, and automation across the team’s financial reporting workflows
Champion a culture of innovation and continuous improvement, encouraging the team to explore new ideas and solutions to improve efficiency and accuracy
Manage team performance and delivery against agreed priorities
Lead the strategic scaling of the Manila-based Financial Reporting team, ensuring the structure and headcount grow effectively to meet the evolving needs of our global business
Financial Statement Preparation
Lead the preparation of statutory financial statements for a portfolio of APAC Netflix entities, ensuring compliance with IFRS or local GAAP as required
Manage and coordinate external audits and local compliance obligations for assigned entities, acting as a primary point of contact for auditors and regulatory bodies
Partner cross-functionally with tax, finance, engineering and other operational teams to support business initiatives, resolve accounting or compliance issues, and drive process improvements
Provide technical accounting guidance, perform research and prepare technical documentation for accounting issues when required
Support period-end close activities, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting
Who you are:
A self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, global environment, able to work autonomously on complex projects and process improvements under tight timelines
An exceptional people leader with a proven ability to build, motivate, and develop high-performing, diverse teams
A strong communicator and relationship builder who can effectively manage internal and external stakeholders across cross-functional teams
A strategic thinker who can quickly integrate broader business priorities with financial objectives
Your experience:
Degree in Finance/Accounting or equivalent practical experience
CPA, CA or equivalent accounting qualification is required
10+ years of relevant accounting experience, including at least 3 years in a leadership or management role
Strong expertise in IFRS and/or local GAAP; experience with APAC/EMEA/LATAM local GAAPs is a plus
Demonstrated experience preparing end-to-end statutory financial statements and managing external audits for international entities
Experience with cloud-based ERP systems (we use Workday Financials) and reporting tools (e.g. Workiva) is a plus
Inclusion is a Netflix value and we strive to host a meaningful interview experience for all candidates. If you want an accommodation/adjustment for a disability or any other reason during the hiring process, please send a request to your recruiting partner.
