Accounting Manager oversees the daily operations of the accounting department, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in financial reporting. Key role in supporting decision-making by providing timely financial insights and maintaining internal controls.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Understand the financial transactions of the business through development, construction, and operational phases by initiating actions to gather the needed information related to this.

  • Supervise and manage accounting staff, delegating tasks and reviewing work

  • Periodic review of transaction expenditures and ensure that expenditures are within approved budget and is in accordance with local and regional Finance policies prior to payment processing;

  • Responsible for month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing of financials for the assigned projects/entities including tax review;

  • Provide documentation for bank and government related for compliance reporting

  • As may be needed, recommend new accounting/tax process and procedure by analyzing current procedures and update the relevant process documents as necessary.

  • Providing support toward additional value-added activities and supporting operational and departmental excellence, while fostering teamwork between all functions/teams;

  • Provide support in the various workstreams leading towards M&A, project financing , due diligence, as required

  • Be the key initiator and driver of process improvement and innovation in the function without sacrificing efficiency and controls.

  • Provide support on tax workstreams as needed

  • Co-manage outsource service provider and consultants providing the necessary services to the business.

  • Act as key-point-of-contact for regional controlling;

  • With guidance of immediate manager, support with the planning, budget management, forecasting and provide financial insights and information to business stakeholders of the platform to enable them to run and manage the platform effectively, efficiently and profitably;

  • Reviewing, interpreting and preparing initial reports on monthly accounts, performance and variances, analyzing trends and investigating discrepancies, suggest cost management corrective measures;

  • As may be needed, recommend new accounting process and procedure by analyzing current procedures;

  • Provide support with various internal audits and special tax related projects.

  • Assist tax engagements ranging from simple tax query engagements to complex engagements such as corporate restructuring, tax due diligence.

  • Assist BIR assessments and notice letters.

  • Assist tax and statutory assessments to resolve discrepancies and respond to inquiries from regulatory agencies and notice letters.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Pre-requisites:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy; CPA preferred (tax background is an advantage).

  • 7+ years of accounting experience in the infrastructure, energy, or transportation sectors.

  • Strong analytical skills, problem‑solving capability, high attention to detail, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Proven expertise in financial systems oversight, financial close, daily accounting operations, and managing deliverables from outsourced service providers.

  • Proficient in IFRS for preparation of financial statements and reports; experience working with NAV, Anaplan, SharePoint, and other accounting tools.

  • Strong communication skills and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and related applications.
