The Position
We are looking for a Manager, Finance Operations who will be responsible for overseeing Lumine’s finance operations at head office, overseeing monthly close, accounts payable and banking management. This role reports to the Director, Corporate Controller.
This position is right for you if you have excellent attention to detail and strong understanding of monthly close process and controls. You are driven to deliver quality results and strive for continuous process improvements. You are a collaborative individual, who can work easily with a team, and are also comfortable driving work to completion independently when required. You have excellent social skills, a warm phone manner, and are an enthusiastic energetic self-starter.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for monthly close and reporting of Lumine’s head office entities, including review of journal entries, full trial balance reconciliations, and intercompany invoicing.
- Review supporting documents and working papers for HST and income tax returns for Canadian head office entity.
- Manage and liaise external audits for Lumine’s head office entities in multiple jurisdictions including Canada, UK, and other geographies.
- Prepare schedules and working papers to support internal audits and maintain appropriate control documentation.
- Oversee accounts payable and day-to-day banking for Lumine’s head office entities, ensuring timely and accurate accruals and payments.
- Responsible for preparing or reviewing various quarterly close deliverables such as transfer pricing calculations, vacation accruals, variance analysis, etc.
- Assist in the review and approval of statutory financial reporting of portfolio companies in various international jurisdictions.
- Prepare and maintain internal resources and training materials on banking, reporting, and other relevant areas and best practices on controllership.
- Maintain relationships with finance teams at portfolio, group and company levels and act as an advisor to the group of companies on relevant areas in controllership and related best practices.
- Continuously look for process improvements in financial reporting and internal control processes.
- Other duties and projects as necessary.
Qualifications:
- Professional accounting designation (CPA or equivalent)
- Minimum of 5+ years of finance and accounting experience
- Experience working in global, multi-currency business
- Experience working with software companies an asset
- Experience working in accounts payable an asset
- Experience with acquisition accounting an asset
- Strong attention to detail and work ethics
- Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple shifting priorities in a fast-moving environment
- Effectively communicates (verbal, written and presentation) with internal and external stakeholders at all organizational levels
- Experience working with NetSuite or BPC considered an asset
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel and Word
