Northrop Grumman’s Corporate Sector's Chief Information & Digital Office (CIDO) is seeking a Manager Enterprise-Wide Applications 2 to support the Enterprise Platforms & Applications organization. The selected candidate will lead Northrop Grumman’s Salesforce program and related enterprise application initiatives. This role owns the strategy, roadmap, and operational execution of Salesforce as a core business enablement platform, with a focus on Business Development, Environmental Sustainability, and key Mission Systems (MS) programs. This role is expected to balance strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, and hands-on program execution across multiple business areas.


The manager will oversee a team of Salesforce Administrators/Developers, ensuring alignment between business needs and technical solutions, managing budgets and Statements of Work (SOWs), and coordinating across multiple stakeholder groups and sectors. The ideal candidate has experience leading enterprise or multi-sector applications, strong project/program management skills, and the ability to work effectively with both functional leadership and technical teams in a remote environment.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Program & Strategy Leadership
    • Own Salesforce program strategy, roadmap, and governance for supported business areas (Business Development, Environmental Sustainability, MS programs).
    • Translate business objectives into a cohesive Salesforce and enterprise application strategy that is scalable, secure, and user-focused.
    • Lead communities of practice or working groups to drive standards and best practices.
  • Team Management & Mentorship
    • Lead a team of Salesforce Administrators/Developers, providing direction, prioritization, and coaching.
    • Set goals and expectations; mentor staff on technical and professional development.
    • Foster a collaborative culture of continuous improvement, accountability for project outcomes, and knowledge sharing.
  • Stakeholder Engagement
    • Serve as primary point of contact for key stakeholders in Business Development, Environmental Sustainability, and MS programs.
    • Facilitate regular meetings with functional and program leadership to review priorities, roadmap, risks, and status.
    • Coordinate and, as appropriate, delegate requirements gathering, solution design reviews, and change management to ensure high user adoption.
  • Budget, SOW, and Vendor Management
    • Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and resource plans for the Salesforce program and associated applications.
    • Own and manage Statements of Work (SOWs) for internal and external delivery teams.
    • Partner with procurement, vendors, and internal stakeholders on contracts, renewals, technical services, and licensing.
  • Project & Portfolio Management
    • Lead major projects involving Salesforce configuration, integrations, and enhancements.
    • Apply project management best practices for planning, execution, risk/issue management, and reporting.
    • Coordinate across initiatives to manage dependencies and balance short-term needs with long-term strategy.
  • Technical Oversight & Issue Resolution
    • Work closely with developers and administrators to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
    • Ensure solutions adhere to security, compliance, and architectural standards.
    • Support incident and problem management processes for Salesforce and related applications.
  • Training & Change Management
    • Lead trainings, demos, and office hours to drive adoption and effective use of Salesforce.
    • Oversee creation and maintenance of documentation, Concept of Operations (CONOPS), and training materials.
    • Champion best practices and promote a culture of data stewardship and system ownership.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 8 years of relevant professional experience; or a Master's degree with 6 years of relevant professional experience; or 12 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree
  • Demonstrated experience leading enterprise or multi-sector applications (e.g., applications used across multiple business units, programs, or functions).
  • Experience working with business stakeholders to define requirements, prioritize initiatives, and align technology projects with business outcomes.
  • Strong project management experience, preferably in software or enterprise application delivery.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders, including functional leadership and program managers.
  • Experience leading trainings, Q&A sessions, or communities of practice related to technology or process change.
  • Ability to collaborate closely with technical teams (developers, administrators, engineers) to address issues, clarify requirements, and guide solution approaches.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple concurrent initiatives and priorities.
  • Ability to effectively lead and coordinate remote teams and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated continuous learning mindset and interest in understanding the technologies and platforms supported (e.g., Salesforce and related enterprise applications).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Formal people-leadership experience (direct employee management or structured mentorship).
  • Experience managing or implementing Salesforce or similar Business Development / CRM platforms.
  • Experience with Business Development organizations or software, Environmental Sustainability initiatives, or Mission Systems programs (or comparable domains).
  • Program, portfolio, or product management experience for enterprise or multi-sector software solutions.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred, or equivalent program/portfolio management experience.
  • Experience managing budgets, SOWs, and/or vendor relationships for technology programs.
  • Familiarity with agile or hybrid project management methodologies.
  • Experience establishing governance structures, standards, and best practices for enterprise applications.

Primary Level Salary Range: $133,200.00 - $199,800.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
