What you’ll do:
- Lead and mentor engineers across core teams, fostering a collaborative and inclusive culture with clear guidance and support.
- Guide architectural and technical decisions, ensuring best practices in development, testing, and deployment while aligning platform strategy with business goals.
- Act as the lead on a Scrum team, facilitating agile processes and ensuring alignment with sprint goals and deliverables.
- Oversee the design, development, and delivery of web applications using technologies like Python, Django, JavaScript/TypeScript, Vue.js, Postgres, and AWS.
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues, emphasizing quality and maintainability through comprehensive testing, documentation, and automation.
- Help build a cohesive, autonomous team that can make strategic decisions independently and execute efficiently.
- Drive the development of an engaging and collaborative office culture that promotes teamwork, inclusion, and innovation.
- Contribute to scaling the team by taking an active role in interviewing, hiring, and onboarding new members, ensuring the team has the skills needed to succeed.
- Take ownership of team growth by actively participating in interviewing, hiring, and onboarding.
- Allocate roughly 50% of the role to people management (the emphasis is on people management) and 50% to hands-on coding and technical problem-solving.
- Act as a liaison between US and Poland teams leverage excellent communication and project management skills
- Establish development best practices, promote continuous improvement, prioritize projects for timely delivery, and ensure technical excellence through code reviews and tool implementation.
- Foster innovation by generating and supporting ideas for advanced technical solutions that enhance the company’s competitive edge.
What you have:
- Proven track record of success in large enterprise SAAS Software, distributed systems, scalability, data pipelines and continuous development
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and 6-10 years’ experience OR Master’s degree and 5-7 years’ experience
- Senior level skill-set with core programming languages (Python, Java, C#, C/C++, etc.)
- Experience working with distributed systems, inter-service communication protocols, and APIs (e.g. REST, NSQ, etc.)
- Experience working with relational databases and SQL
Extras you bring to the table:
- Deploying into a public cloud service (AWS, GCP, etc.)
- Experience with containerization (Docker/Kubernetes)
- Solid understanding of distributed systems and building scalable/redundant services
- Experience with service monitoring, metrics, alerting, log aggregation, and tracing
- Experience with functional/acceptance testing
