In the role of Engineering Manager, you will report to the Director of Video Players.
As the Engineering Manager for the VideoIQ team, you will own the delivery and operationalization of our analytics, observability, dashboards, anomaly detection, forecasting, and AI-driven insights, ensuring a data-driven approach independent of specific implementations. You will lead and grow a team of skilled engineers while advocating for our core values of operational excellence, engineering quality, and effective delivery. You will establish relationships across Engineering, Program Management, and Product to drive projects and to help deliver our technology roadmap. You will join an international team of 100+ client engineers and leaders that have helped establish Crunchyroll as the leader in its space.

Core Areas of Responsibility- Lead, mentor, and grow a team of engineers specializing in data science and engineering for video intelligence.
- Foster a culture within the team that aligns with our core values.
- Conduct regular one-on-one meetings with a focus on performance and career development.
- Oversee the design, implementation, and delivery of projects that address complex challenges in the observability and telemetry domain.
- Ensure best practices in software development, including coding standards, peer code reviews, and documentation
- Drive the development and delivery of intelligent systems for anomaly detection, forecasting, and AI-driven insights, and establish a framework for robust analytics and dashboard reporting.
- Work closely with product managers, designers, and other cross-functional stakeholders to define requirements and set priorities.
- Communicate project status, challenges, and outcomes to senior management and other teams.
- Establish a culture with regard to our core tenets of excellence in operations, engineering, and delivery.
- Participate in the hiring and interviewing process and act as a spokesperson for the Crunchyroll engineering team.
- Keep up to date on industry trends by researching and benchmarking new technologies against other solutions in the market.
