Job Description:
You will lead the DevOps team responsible for the infrastructure, CI/CD, and reliability of our SaaS products on AWS and Azure. You will balance three things every week: growing the people on your team, shaping the technical direction of the platform, and staying close enough to the work to make good decisions. You will partner daily with Product, Engineering, and Security, and report to the Director of DevOps/CloudOps.
This is a leadership role with real technical depth. If you want to manage without ever touching a Terraform plan again, this is not the right fit. If you want to build a team, own an environment, and still solve interesting infrastructure problems, keep reading.
Our Stack, at a Glance
Cloud: AWS, Azure
Infrastructure as Code: Terraform, CloudFormation, Bicep
CI/CD: Jenkins, GitLab, GitHub, GitHub Actions
Collaboration: Jira, Confluence
Observability: DataDog
Compliance: SOC 2, SOX, ISO 27001, HIPAA
What You Will Do
Lead, coach, and grow a team of DevOps engineers — hiring, career development, performance, and the everyday work of making a team effective.
Own the reliability, performance, and cost of our AWS and Azure production environments for our SaaS products.
Partner with Product and Engineering leadership to translate roadmap goals into infrastructure and deployment plans.
Set the technical direction for CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, observability, and incident response — and drive continuous improvement across all four.
Mature the team’s ITIL-aligned service management practices, including on-call, change management, and post-incident review.
Partner with Security to embed compliance requirements (SOC 2, SOX, ISO 27001, HIPAA) into how we build and operate.
Own FinOps for your environment: monitor spend, drive cost efficiency, and forecast cloud costs against the roadmap.
Participate in the on-call rotation for mission-critical production services.
Set clear team and individual objectives, and communicate progress, tradeoffs, and decisions clearly to engineers, peers, and executives.
What You Will Bring
10+ years in infrastructure, systems, or DevOps engineering, including 4+ years leading or managing engineering teams.
Deep hands-on experience running production workloads on AWS and Azure, including cloud networking (VPC/VNet, private connectivity, DNS), compute, storage, and identity and access management.
Strong background in Infrastructure as Code — Terraform, with CloudFormation or Bicep a plus — and one or more configuration management tools (Ansible, Chef, Puppet, or Salt).
Proven CI/CD pipeline ownership at scale, including Jenkins, GitHub Actions, and modern Git-based workflows (GitHub, GitLab, or Bitbucket).
Fluency in at least one scripting language for automation (Python preferred; Bash, PowerShell, or Ruby also welcome).
Experience designing and operating for high availability, disaster recovery, and backup and retention on cloud platforms.
Experience with containerized workloads and Kubernetes orchestration (EKS, AKS, or self-managed clusters).
Working experience with modern observability practices — metrics, logs, traces, SLIs and SLOs, and alert design. DataDog experience is a strong plus.
Working knowledge of cloud security fundamentals across AWS and Azure: WAF, threat detection (GuardDuty, Defender for Cloud), vulnerability management, endpoint protection, CSPM tooling, and compliance frameworks (SOC 2, SOX, ISO 27001, CIS, HIPAA).
Excellent written and verbal communication — you can explain a complex tradeoff to an engineer and to a VP in the same day.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
The salary range in United States of America for this position is 139,000.00 to 174,000.00 USD Annual.
For sales roles, this range includes the commission target. For non-sales roles, this is a base salary only range; additional bonus eligibility may apply.
Your specific offer within this range will be determined by your skills, experience, and qualifications.
We are committed to pay transparency and fair compensation practices. If you have questions about our compensation approach, please don't hesitate to ask during the interview process.
