Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking a Section Manager, Engineering 2 to lead the (E-130J) Reliability & Diagnostics Section. This role reports to the PS Engineering Department Manager on the (E-130J) program. This leadership role is located on-site, based in Melbourne, FL.
The Section Manager provides leadership and oversight for the development, sustainment, and integration of logistics elements across a project, with primary expertise in Reliability, Maintainability, Prognostics Health Management, and Integrated Health Management Systems. This role ensures program objectives for Product Support are achieved by coordinating across engineering, operations, and sustainment disciplines, while providing functional oversight and governance of logistics requirements.
This position will partner closely with PS Department Manager to monitor technical, cost, and schedule commitments through effective alignment of staffing, execution processes, and disciplined use of engineering tools. The Section Manager forecasts staffing needs on a rolling 12-month cycle, ensures staffing requirements are entered into POST, and ensures talent is deployed, transitioned, and onboarded in sync with program demand.
This leader plays a critical role in execution program requirements while aligning functional capabilities with program needs, enabling successful execution across cost, schedule, quality, and technical performance.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Identify and communicate design and issue impacts across the larger logistics community on the program to drive design changes and ensure all program and customer requirements are addressed.
Prepare and manage project schedule and budgets to include EVMS and prepare status reports on the health of the projects.
Identify risks and opportunities and coordinate with project teams to mitigate and retire risks.
Assess issues and develop resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives.
Prepare briefings for management/customer and develop mechanisms for monitoring project progress and tools for intervention and problem solving with project managers, suppliers and clients.
Provide reliability subject matter expert advice on assigned program.
Provide management, guidance and development of the Reliability, Availability, Maintainability & Testability Engineering Team
Review and disposition (as required) of system drawings in CAD, NX, Solidworks, specifications and other engineering technical data…includes Northrop Grumman, Supplier, and Government furnished technical data.
Development oversight of model for meeting Reliability mission requirements
Interface between the reliability organization and other functional elements of the capture program.
Provide advice to Systems Engineers regarding their responsibilities in accordance with the Reliability Program.
Lead reliability engineering reviews.

Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) field from an accredited university AND 9 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering, OR a Master’s degree AND 7 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering.
Must be willing and able to travel to various site locations to participate and represent the Product Support IPT.
Your ability to transfer and maintain the final adjudicated U.S. government Secret clearance (must be in-scope or enrolled in Continuous Evaluation) and any program access(es) required for the position within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the Company.
Must have ability to obtain and maintain US Government Top Secret Clearance
Experience with Root Cause Analysis, FRACAS, FMEA/FMECA or related Reliability Engineering work
Experience with reading and understanding technical data (e.g., Technical Orders, Engineering Drawings, Parts Lists, Bills of Material, Engineering Specifications, etc.)
Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
Exercising a high degree of initiative and exhibiting advance organization skills.

Recent experience with Cameo, Magic Draw, or other MBSE tools such as Rhapsody, Sparx EA, and Enterprise Architect.
Experience with military aircraft maintenance, operations, and sustainment.
Practical hands-on experience performing: Reliability, Availability, Maintainability, FRACAS, ESS, Reliability Testing, Root Cause Analysis, FMEA/FMECA, Fault Tree Analysis, sparing analysis, and related engineering work.
Experience with or exposure to digital design initiatives and solutions to include Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and Model Based Sustainment (MBS)
Experience using CAMEO Enterprise Architecture
Experience with Life Cycle Cost Analysis and Modeling/Simulation
