Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking a highly qualified, mission-oriented Systems Engineering Manager 2 located in Melbourne, FL. This role is 2 parts: approximately 15% functional management role and approximately 85% direct charge program role on RAD program.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDING (BUT NOT LIMITED TO) THE FOLLOWING:
- Lead a section of systems engineers (15-20 personnel)
- Instruct, mentor and champion agile concepts and processes
- Be responsible for hiring, development, training, and retention of section talent. Hiring will include university and experienced hiring.
- Provide leadership and direction to team members and manage employee performance (including engagement strategies for higher performers and corrective actions for lower performers)
- Responsible for day-to-day operation of the organization including employee movement and balancing of resources among programs and resolving critical/urgent program/technical issues.
- Promote the professional development of the Systems Engineering team and foster a collaborative culture that sustains the momentum around employee engagement and inclusion, affordability, innovation, value growth and continuous improvement.
- Provide clear assignments, helps employees connect their efforts to the bigger picture, creates an inclusive work environment characterized by mutual respect and the valuing of differences, and builds a culture that motivates employees to their highest levels of performance.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university and 9 years of combined technical and management experience, or Master’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university and 7 years of combined technical and management experience.
- Experience in at least one of the following areas: Operations Analysis, Modeling and Simulation, Systems Analysis, System Architecture, Mission Integration or Model Based Systems Engineering
- Experience leading an engineering team or project
- Familiarity with AGILE/SCRUM Master, MBSE with CAMEO, DODAF 2.0
- Familiarity with AFSIM Modeling and SIM
- Must have a current DoD Secret clearance and a periodic reinvestigation, or an original adjudication date completed within the last 5 years
- Previous experience working in a SAP/SAR environment.
- Ability to obtain SAP access.
