We are looking for a passionate people professional to lead employee communications, engagement and experience initiatives that strengthen culture, belonging and staff connection across Hong Kong Baptist University.

Supporting a staff community of around 4,000, this role provides a unique opportunity to influence how employees experience their journey at HKBU—from onboarding and orientation to recognition, well-being, inclusion and community engagement.

Responsibilities:

Lead Employee Communications and Experience

  • Develop and implement employee communication and engagement strategies that strengthen staff awareness, connection and belonging;
  • Create engaging communication campaigns that bring HR and University initiatives to life;
  • Enhance the employee experience across key touchpoints of the employee lifecycle;
  • Drive initiatives that foster a positive, inclusive and people-centred workplace culture;
  • Drive University-wide Engagement Programmes; and
  • Lead staff orientation and onboarding programmes that help new colleagues connect with HKBU from day one.

Design and deliver engagement campaigns and activities relating to:

  • Sustainability and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs);
  • Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (ED&I);
  • Employee wellbeing and wellness;
  • Respectful workplace and equal opportunity awareness;
  • Compliance, ethics and policy awareness;
  • Organise staff engagement events, appreciation initiatives and community-building activities that strengthen staff connection and participation; and
  • Oversee major recognition initiatives including Long Service Awards, Retirement Appreciation Programmes and Staff Recognition Schemes.

Partner, Advise and Lead

  • Contribute to organisation development and culture-building initiatives;
  • Lead and develop a high-performing team to deliver impactful employee engagement outcomes; and
  • Build strong partnerships across academic and administrative units to promote a vibrant employee experience.

Requirements:

  • A degree in Human Resources, Communications, Psychology, Organisational Psychology, Marketing, Public Relations, Organisation Development or a related discipline;
  • At least 10 years' work experience, with leadership experience in employee engagement, communications, employee experience, organisation development or related areas;
  • Strong communication, stakeholder engagement and project management skills;
  • Proven experience leading impactful engagement campaigns, staff programmes or culture-building initiatives;
  • A creative and proactive mindset with a genuine passion for improving employee experience; and
  • Excellent written and spoken English and Chinese.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to a written test and interviews.

If you fulfill most requirements but with less experience, you may still apply. If found suitable, we may consider offering the position as Assistant Manager.

The role is a regular position. Successful candidates will be offered a fixed-term contract of two years with a competitive remuneration package commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Skills Required
