Toast, Inc. seeks an experienced Disaster Recovery Manager responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining the organization's disaster recovery plan to ensure the rapid recovery of critical IT systems and infrastructure in the event of a disaster or major outage. This role focuses on the technical aspects of disaster recovery, including data backup and recovery, system failover, and infrastructure resilience.
Work Mode: Hybrid (2-3 days in office)
Work Location: Bangalore/Chennai
About this roll* (Responsibilities)
- Implement and update disaster recovery policies, guidance, documentation, and systems
- Develop and maintain the disaster recovery plans for Toast, including procedures for data backup and recovery, system failover, and infrastructure resilience
- Conduct regular disaster recovery testing and exercises to ensure plan effectiveness
- Collaborate with IT and technology teams to ensure alignment of disaster recovery plans with infrastructure and systems
- Provide training and awareness programs for IT staff on disaster recovery procedures
- Manage and lead disaster recovery efforts during an actual disaster or major outage
- Respond to and support disaster recovery related documentation requests or actions from third party partners and regulatory agencies
Do you have the right ingredients*? (Requirements)
- Bachelor’s Degree required.
- At least five (5) years of experience in a disaster recovery or resiliency management role at a fintech, bank, technology company, auditing, or consulting firm.
- Excellent knowledge and understanding of disaster recovery and resiliency management practices.
- A strong understanding of common IT, infrastructure, cloud-based technology, and data center configurations, terminology, controls, and recovery practices.
- At least one of the relevant certification(s) such as the Disaster Recovery Certified Specialist (DRCS), Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP), Certificate of the Business Continuity Institute (CBCI), ISO 22301 Certified Business Continuity Manager (CBCM), Business Continuity and Resiliency Professional (BCRP) or other business continuity professional certification
- Strong critical and analytical thinking, decision-making, innovative problem-solving, and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to drive action and build consensus among cross-functional stakeholders. Detail-oriented strong project management skills with the ability to meet firm deadlines.
- Ability to adapt in challenging and changing situations, comfortable dealing with ambiguity and uncertainty
