The Role

Job Summary
The Manager Disaster Recovery & Resilience is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing the company's disaster recovery plans for a highly complex, enterprise-wide IT environment. This includes on-premises, Cloud, and SAAS environments. This role will be responsible for managing highly complex disaster recovery and resiliency solutions through the management and orchestration of people, products, providers and processes. Works across IT towers and with the business partners to provide strategic direction and oversight for the design, development, operation and support of NiSource's disaster and resiliency solutions. This role ensures that the company can effectively respond to and recover from any disruptive events, minimizing downtime and ensuring the continuity of critical business operations.
Essential Functions

  • Professionally develops self and staff by seeking out educational opportunities/knowledge transfer;
    keeping abreast of professional standards and publications; maintaining personal networks and
    participating in professional organizations.
  • Communicates with IT leadership and senior business leadership to review disaster recovery and
    resiliency strategy and technical roadmap.
  • Participates in the assessment of external and internal technology capabilities required to achieve
    desired resiliency positioning.
  • Collaborates cross-functionally to design improved disaster recovery and resiliency support
    processes. Drive management and organizationally driven initiatives that contribute to long-term
    operational excellence.
  • Effectively communicates with Service Providers, sub-contractors, providing guidance and direction to
    ensure timelines and deliverables meet or exceed business partner needs.
  • Demonstrates improvements in process and technologies working closely with Enterprise Architecture
    and Cyber Security to evaluate and recommend new disaster recovery and resiliency technologies.
    Deploys best practices and industry standards.
  • Drive continuous improvement in the Disaster Recovery Maturity Model. Develop and maintain
    comprehensive infrastructure disaster recovery plans.
  • Develops overall program strategy to ensure proper sequencing and integration of large/complex
    Infrastructure initiatives within the portfolio and adjusts project scope, timing, and budgets as
    necessary, based upon the needs of the business.
  • Quantifies impacts of risks and issues to scope, schedule, budget and prioritizing and driving
    resolution.
  • Continually evaluates and maintains efficiency in managing the portfolio of recovery and resiliency
    initiatives through planning, scheduling and budget assessment.
  • Monitors, measures and reports on status to IT leadership and senior business leadership.
  • Provides leadership, direction, coordination and coaching for project managers, technical leads,
    technical analysts, engineers and service provider teams during their day to day management and
    implementation of IT & Business projects, programs, operational activities and processes.
  • Manages multiple service providers selected to support day-to-day operations along with projects,
    including full vendor management procedures.
  • Needs to be able to navigate and manage new challenges in both culture and identify, and develop
    the necessary skills and competencies as the organization matures.
  • Stable and reliable IT Infrastructure operations through technology investments and continuous
    improvement to drive process excellence that meets or exceeds business needs and predefined
    Service Level Agreements.
  • Planning and coordination across multiple IT and business groups for the startup and execution of
    recovery and resiliency initiatives through delivery.
  • Partners with key service providers to drive continuous improvements and operational excellence
    across the infrastructure and Cloud footprint.
  • Financial forecasting and management of infrastructure costs associated with new investments,
    labor, and maintenance activities.
  • Develops business case justifications and cost/benefit analysis for recovery and resiliency spending
    and supporting initiatives.
  • Collaborate with IT, operations, and other departments to ensure alignment and integration of
    recovery plans.
     
  • Required Qualifications For Position
  • Bachelor's Degree in computer science, MIS, Engineering, related field, or equivalent work experience
  • 10+ years of complex, enterprise-wide IT management experience with
  • 4 years of leadership experience across IT disaster recovery, resiliency, and business
    continuity planning
  • Experience managing IT Infrastructure initiatives that span multiple years and consist of a combination of internal/external and labor/non-labor cost components
  • Experience with cost management and resource capacity planning
  • Experience implementing change management approaches to support programs
  • Experience in the indirect management of team members, including assisting in the development, training and assignment of work to other members of a team.
  • Solid working experience with Vendor / Contract Management
  • Strong knowledge of disaster recovery planning, risk management, and business
    impact analysis.
  • Must have excellent leadership skills (proven ability to coach, develop and lead a team) and must be able to work with a diverse project team consisting of resources from all parts of the organization (both IT & Business)
  • Proven ability to engage and develop relationships with executive sponsors and key stakeholders with clarity and precision
  • Ability to interpret guidelines and analyze factual information to adapt/modify processes in response to changing circumstances.
  • Ability to adapt well to change in direction and priority in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
  • Strong Business Process Analysis skills and Business Process Mapping
  • Familiarity with the Energy Industry is a preferred
  • Certification in disaster recovery or business continuity (e.g., CBCP, DRII) is preferred
     
  • Preferred Additional Qualifications for Position
  • ITIL experience

Salary Range*:

$129,500.00 - $194,300.00

*The salary offered to a candidate is based on several factors including but not limited to the candidate’s skills, job-related knowledge, and relevant experience, as well as internal pay equity.
