What success looks like in this role:
Provides leadership, direction, and coaching to a multidisciplinary team of database administrators, data engineers, and reporting analysts.
Establishes and maintains non‑production database, data pipeline, and reporting test environments."
Partners with product owners, business stakeholders, and technical teams to understand data platform requirements, data consumption needs, and analytical use cases.
Collaborates with project and program managers to ensure team priorities align with broader data, application, and enterprise initiatives.
Leads the planning, execution, and delivery of data platform enhancements, database releases, data pipelines, and reporting solutions.
Ensures delivery of secure, reliable, high‑quality, and scalable data platforms that meet business, compliance, and performance requirements.
Oversees the maintenance, grooming, and prioritization of the data platform and analytics backlog.
Engages with customers, end users, and business partners to understand data issues, reporting needs, and opportunities for platform improvement.
Supports the evaluation and adoption of new data technologies, automation tools, and database management solutions.
Establishes and maintains non‑production database, data pipeline, and reporting test environments.
Works closely with technical teams to troubleshoot and resolve data platform, ETL, reporting, and production database issues.
Defines, implements, and promotes best practices and standard operating procedures for database management, data engineering, reporting, deployment, support, and incident response.
Develops and maintains training, development, and upskilling plans to grow team capability across database, data engineering, and analytics disciplines.
Contributes to the execution of division‑wide data initiatives, governance programs, and technology transformation efforts.
Identifies, communicates, and manages risks and issues related to data platforms, data quality, system performance, and solution design.
