About the Team
The Data Acquisition team sources and manages the external data that powers our solutions. The team works across the organization to evaluate data opportunities, onboard and manage suppliers, and ensure data is acquired responsibly, compliantly, and in support of our business strategy.
About the Role
The Data Acquisition Manager is responsible for identifying, evaluating, and securing external data sources that support business strategy, product innovation, and market growth. This particular role will focus on supporting the Insurance Auto and Home verticals. This role manages key data provider relationships, leads commercial negotiations, and works cross-functionally with product, analytics, legal, compliance, finance, and technology teams to bring new data assets into the business. The role also helps ensure data is sourced responsibly, aligned to business needs, and positioned to deliver long-term value through effective onboarding, governance, and ongoing supplier management.
This role can be hybrid in Alpharetta, GA or remote in the US.
Responsibilities
- Leading the identification, evaluation, and acquisition of external data sources that support strategic business and product priorities
- Identifying new market opportunities and data partnerships that strengthen product differentiation and long-term growth
- Building and managing relationships with data suppliers, serving as the primary point of coordination throughout the acquisition lifecycle
- Partnering cross-functionally with product, analytics, legal, compliance, finance, and technology teams to assess opportunities and advance initiatives
- Driving supplier due diligence, data evaluations, and onboarding activities to ensure new data assets meet business, operational, and compliance requirements
- Negotiating commercial terms and supporting contract development in partnership with legal and business stakeholders
- Overseeing the successful transition of new data assets from evaluation through implementation and operational handoff
- Monitoring supplier performance, managing ongoing governance activities, and helping address issues, renewals, and contract-related decisions
- Developing clear business cases, recommendations, and status updates to support prioritization and executive decision-making
- Ensuring all acquisition activities align with internal policies, risk standards, and regulatory requirements
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business or risk management, preferred
- Minimum 5 years related work experience
- Experienced with contract negotiations
- Proven success managing external data and vendor relationships
- Proven success working with multiple functional areas
- Highly organized, self-motivated, and capable of working in a dynamic environment with minimal supervision.
- Strong research, financial analysis, business analyst/support skills
- Solid collaboration and influence management skills
- Strength in communication, interacting and influencing at all levels of the organization
- Executive presence, professional presentation skills
- Understanding of technology and database applications
