Job Purpose:

The Manager, Credit Control, is responsible for performing end-to-end checker activities under Limits and Collateral Management, ensuring excellent customer service in line with agreed SLAs and TATs. The role ensures accurate and timely processing of credit limits, collateral origination, maintenance, settlements, reconciliations, monitoring activities and control procedures to minimize operational, legal and security risks. The role also supports effective management of system issues, housekeeping, audit observations, fraud, AML, compliance, Business Continuity Management and internal control requirements, while driving process improvements and control efficiency within Credit Middle Office.

Key Accountabilities:

Perform end-to-end checker activities for Limits and Collateral Management, including creation, maintenance and cancellation of limits in line with approved credit terms and facility documentation.

• Ensure tangible collateral details are accurately recorded in the Emirates Movable Collateral Registry before limit setup, and maintain collateral records including liens, deposits, share mortgages, vehicle mortgages and other approved securities.

• Maintain client limits, borrower grades, overdraft interest rates, covenants, SIC codes, downgrade or upgrade updates, interest in suspense, write-off details and credit review dates in the relevant systems.

• Ensure timely collection of processing fees to avoid income leakage and maintain accurate client information in audit confirmations, liability letters, no-liability letters and status reports.

• Monitor LTV requirements for gold, shares, oil and other commodities, including periodic asset revaluation and immediate escalation of breaches to Business and Credit.

• Oversee monitoring and control activities covering excesses, past dues, covenant breaches, annual reviews, tangible collateral expiry, insurance renewals, valuations and daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly reconciliations.

• Manage AML, FRR, Legal and Compliance requests, including placement and removal of holds based on approved instructions.

• Lead operational control efficiency initiatives by monitoring processing time, transaction volumes, rework levels, SLA adherence and automation opportunities.

• Support quarterly RCSA testing, corrective actions, risk event reporting, internal and external audit remediation and UAE Central Bank inspection observations related to limit input, pricing and credit control activities.

• Train staff, maintain effective backups for critical positions, update SOPs and ensure Credit Control policies, procedures and regulatory guidelines are implemented effectively.

Requirements

Experience & Academic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, Banking, Business Administration or a related discipline.

• 5 to 8 years of banking experience, including at least 5 years in credit administration, limits management, collateral management or credit middle office functions.

• Experience in managerial or supervisory responsibilities within a credit operations environment.

• Good understanding of banking operations, credit policies, procedures, regulatory requirements, statutory guidelines and market practices.

• Sound knowledge of core banking systems and related satellite systems used for limits, collateral, monitoring and reporting activities.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel and spreadsheet-based reporting.

Skills Required

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, banking, business administration, or a related discipline
