Manager, Consumer & Industrial Products

West Monroe has an immediate opportunity for a Manager to help our growing Consumer and Industrial Products practice with a focus on Industry 4.0 and Operational Improvement opportunities. The Manager will have three main responsibilities:
Client Development:
This role entails significant responsibility in developing new business, managing the client relationship at the executive levels while providing direction and oversight to project teams. Most importantly, candidates should be passionate about what they do and enjoy a fun, entrepreneurial environment.
Practice Development:
You will play an active C&IP leadership role in addition to supporting the leadership of the Chicago / Minneapolis based team. You will be expected to manage and mentor talented teams of consultants and technologists supporting our Consumer and Industrial Product client engagements that reimagine, build, and transform their business and operations.
Client Delivery:
As a Manager within our C&IP Practice, you will be expected to provide delivery oversight on data-driven client engagements, manage relationships with C-suite executives and deliver compelling offerings that create significant shareholder value.
Qualifications:
- MBA degree preferred, or equivalent experience required
- 4+ years’ experience leading the delivery of data-driven consulting engagements from strategy to execution
- 5+ years’ experience managing multi-disciplinary teams of consultants and technologists OR 10+ years in an operational / technology leadership role in a C&IP related industry
- Ability to synthesize recommendations that integrate data & analytics, overall strategic objectives and existing business constraints
- Ability to coach junior resources on engagement delivery, data insight generation, hypothesis driven approach and presentation best practices
- Proven experience leading day-to-day project activities across multidisciplinary teams (e.g., data scientists, solution architects, operations experts, etc.) to ensure timely execution of project deliverables and outcomes
- Strong business development acumen with experience driving proposal process from lead to close
- Strong communication skills to be able to work with clients at all levels of the organization – from the shop floor to the board room
- Membership and visibility in relevant professional organizations preferred
- Ability to travel 50-70%

Industry Knowledge:
- Functional knowledge of industrial / consumer manufacturing value chain – particularly in one or more of the following sectors: Industrial Products and Equipment, Consumer Packaged Goods, Chemicals, Specialty Materials, Durable Goods, Food & Beverage, Automotive/Transportation
- Experience with mid-market manufacturing businesses ($500M - $5B in Revenue)
- Ability to leverage available data sources (e.g., transaction data, KPI’s, etc.) to identify drivers of performance, including revenue, costs and overall profitability
- Ability to identify and quantify business cases impacting the P&L and/or balance sheet for manufacturing or supply chain use cases
- Also desired is a track record of consumer products or manufacturing client project delivery success that should include: Revenue Growth Management, Performance Improvement, Profitability or Revenue Diagnostic, Cost Savings, Process Improvement, Production Capacity Improvement, Organizational or Sales Effectiveness, Supply Chain Optimization
- Functional knowledge of discreet manufacturing and/or process manufacturing operations a plus
- Lean Six Sigma / Continuous Improvement experience and/or certification is a plus
Based on pay transparency guidelines, the salary range for this role can vary based on your proximity to one of our West Monroe offices (see table below). Individual salaries are determined by evaluating a variety of factors including geography, experience, skills, education, and internal equity.

Employees will also receive unlimited flexible time off and ten paid holidays throughout the calendar year.
