What We're Looking For:
Manage a software engineering team developing computer vision and advanced barcode reading algorithms. Take responsibility for overall system architecture, technical practices, solving customer issues, as well as for mentoring the team, developing talent and coordinate scope of work with Product and Program Management. Ensure the integrity of the architecture/design and technical aptitude of the team. Determine and develop approach to customer solutions in alignment with the integration of Zebratechnologies/solutions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage an advanced algorithm research and software development team.
- Lead team activities aligned with software project delivery needs, including driving capability and skillset growth at a macro level.
- Help develop and establish operational policies within the designated area while providing overall management to development engineers.
- Collaborate regularly across key technology areas where custom application and software integration are critical to project success.
- Direct resource allocation and project assignments to meet customer-driven software commitments.
- Serve as an internally recognized leader, exercising judgment within broadly defined practices and policies to establish methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria.
- Drive the development and implementation of initiatives and programs to optimize processes, reduce cycle time, lower costs, and enhance customer success.
Requirements:
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or an equivalent engineering discipline.
- Advanced knowledge of classical/traditional algorithms and data structures.
- Advanced C/C++ programming and software architecture skills.
- Strong foundation in image processing and computer vision, preferably with experience in high-performance 1D and 2D barcode decoding solutions.
- 8+ years of experience in engineering or software solution delivery.
- Experience working within large/global organizations (preferred).
Incentive Compensation:
In addition to base pay, Zebra offers this role the opportunity to earn a performance-based annual cash incentive, at a target equal to 15% of base pay, in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan.Job Posting Statement:
