Job Summary:
We are looking for a high-impact professional to drive commercial structuring and risk assessment for our fast-growing C&I renewable energy business.
This role sits at the intersection of Business Development, Finance, and Contracts, enabling competitive deal closures while ensuring robust risk management across PPAs.
You will work on complex open access, group captive, hybrid, and RTC structures, supporting large industrial and corporate clients across India.
Key Responsibilities
1. Deal Structuring & Pricing
- Design optimal commercial structures for:
- Open access (solar/wind/hybrid)
- Group captive models
- RTC / firm power solutions
- Support BD team in client discussions and negotiations
2. Commercial Risk Assessment
- Evaluate and structure key contractual provisions:
- Delay LD vs Generation Shortfall LD
- Payment security mechanisms
- Curtailment and regulatory risks
- Identify financial and operational risks in each deal
- Recommend risk mitigation strategies / fallback positions
- Develop risk flags for internal approval and leadership discussion
3. Deal Governance & Internal Alignment
- Work closely with Legal, Finance, and Technical teams to ensure alignment
- Support preparation of investment committee / deal approval notes
- Ensure consistency between commercial agreements and approved deal terms
4. Market & Commercial Intelligence
- Track state-wise regulatory and tariff benchmarks
- Analyze competitor pricing trends and structures
- Support win/loss analysis to refine future bidding strategy
Requirements
Core Experience
- 4-5 years in:
- Renewable energy (IPP) / Power sector
- Energy consulting / advisory
- Strong exposure to:
- PPA structuring
- Open access regulations
- Financial modelling
Skills Required
- Deep understanding of C&I deal structures
- Ability to evaluate and negotiate commercial risks
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- Understanding of financial modelling (Excel-based)
