About the team:
To ensure effective oversight of financial risks in ASX Clearing Houses.
The Clearing Risk Control, Data and Reporting team is responsible for oversight of day-to-day market, counterparty credit and liquidity risk exposures across ASX Clearing Houses and for supporting effective default management preparedness and response.
What you will be doing:

Play a key thought leadership role in the team focusing on oversight of financial risks in ASX Clearing Houses, including:
Leading the operation of key risk controls, including daily and periodic control execution, monitoring effectiveness, and ensuring issues are identified, escalated and remediated in a timely manner.
Managing and improving risk processes in your area including reviewing design and operating effectiveness of controls in your team, assisting with control testing on an annual basis, ensuring procedures are in place and up to date, and staff are appropriately trained on processes.
Driving improvements in financial risk management oversight capabilities leading to a shift from reactive to proactive management of clearing risks.
Where appropriate, supporting the default management firedrills.
As a key user of model output and analytics, partnering closely with Quantitative Analytics, Quantitative Development, Model Risk and Policy teams to improve modelling, risk insights and decision usefulness.
Working closely with line 1 teams on the support of new products and clearing services, including providing SME input on financial risk considerations of new products and cleared services and supporting change activities including UAT and testing.
Managing regulatory, audit, and self-identified issues that fall under your team’s accountability, with a focus on ensuring work is undertaken to an appropriate standard and completed to schedule.
Contributing to and writing papers to the CS Boards, ASX Risk Consultative Committee and internal Risk Governance Working Groups as required.
Managing engagements with external stakeholders effectively including with consultants, clearing and market participants and regulatory agencies as required.
What you will bring:
Must have
Have 8+ year’s domestic or international experience in traded market risk and liquidity risk management / controls in local and/or global financial institutions.
Have a firm grasp of financial risk management concepts including exposure to market, credit and liquidity risk and have a track record of managing and uplifting risk management frameworks.
Have a firm grasp of global markets, global economic conditions and geopolitics and the ability to consider how these may present emerging financial risks to ASX Clearing Houses.
Ability to analyse complex risk management and business problems and develop appropriate solutions.
Ability to interpret model specifications and consider the practical implications of models on clearing participants and Clearing House positions.
Academic qualifications in a quantitative or financial discipline.
Project delivery and change management experience relevant to a financial risk management context.
Experience coaching and developing team members.
Experience working with external stakeholders including customers and regulatory agencies
Nice to have:
Domestic or international experience in a clearing house.
Experience managing a small team.
Knowledge of ASX Derivatives products.
Understanding of central counterparty activities.
Knowledge of the Australian financial regulatory environment
