The Manager Business Intelligence is responsible for developing regular and ad-hoc reporting solutions in relation to sales & margin, pricing, cost and financial reporting. This position oversees a team conducting data analysis of current systems and processes, identifying root causes, developing solutions, and directly supporting teams within the business. This position is responsible for driving business performance measurements and opportunity identification within the business unit utilizing SQL and Power BI and other Power Platform solutions such as Power Automate, Power Pages, and Power Apps.
Responsibilities:
- Manages a team of developers responsible for analyzing problems and capabilities to develop solutions for improved analytical reporting, optimized solutions, deliver change management & communications, and ensure operational efficiency.
- Delivers and guides team to provide regular and ad-hoc reports and presentations, to support the SBU leaders.
- Develops detailed presentations including data analysis reports, data charts and graphs, detailed evaluations of the SBU industry segments, and overall performance data of the SBU using Power Platform tools.
- Manages the full life cycle of analytics & reporting projects: develop and solicit requirements, prioritize projects using JIRA, build development scope and deployment plans, manage teams development build, and ensure execution through change management & communication deliveries tools into the business.
- Guides development of analytic models’ implementation into business applications.
- Builds relationships with key stake holders to foster an environment in which the team is viewed as a business partner in the achievement of financial and non-financial objectives.
- Analyzes customer and company data to identify trends and potential opportunities, and measure achievement toward goals, for Wesco’s customers, suppliers, operating businesses and internal functions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree - Finance/Statistics/Information Systems/Marketing/Mathematics required; Masters Degree preferred
- 7+ years analyzing data to identify insights
- 3+ years managing teams responsible for analytics and reporting or supportive in a senior role within organization
- 1-2+ years required of working with relational database (ex: AWS, Teradata, MS SQL Server, Azure, MS Access, etc.) or experience in programming/system analytics across technologies
- Critical thinking and analytical skills – demonstrated ability to turn data into information into insight and solve complex problems that require independent judgment with no prescribed procedures
- Excellent attention to detail, organization, supervisory and project management skills
- Success in establishing and maintaining effective business relationships, communicating to senior levels of organizations
- Ability to communicate complex information in a straightforward manner using precise language, especially to non-technical audiences
- Success in managing multiple deadlines under tight timelines with multiple priorities
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Products
- Proficient with statistical/probabilistic calculations and concepts
- Proficient in SQL or other data-oriented programming languages
- Demonstrated success in developing/establishing data models into business applications (ex: supervised & unsupervised learning models, simulation, optimization) preferred
- Experience in supply chain, distribution and/or logistics functions strongly preferred
