About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Manager to join our Perth Audit team. BDO’s Audit practice is a major player within the local marketplace, working with a diverse portfolio of organisations across a broad range of industries.

Our growing audit practice provides services to some of the most exciting, established and emerging organisations. You will have the opportunity to work as part of a high‑performing team, gaining exposure to complex engagements while continuing to build your leadership capability.

Competitive salary based on level of experience: starting from $123,000 inclusive of super

About You

  • Relevant tertiary qualification

  • Demonstrated external audit experience within a professional services firm (typically 4+ years)

  • CA/CPA qualification (or working towards)

  • Experience supporting and mentoring junior team members

  • Solid understanding of financial statement areas and key audit concepts

  • Ability to identify risks and apply appropriate audit procedures

  • Strong attention to detail and problem‑solving skills

Key responsibilities include:

  • Support the management, leadership and development of the Audit team to ensure successful completion and execution of assigned engagements

  • Contribute to service line initiatives and support broader team strategy and continuous improvement

  • Identify audit and engagement risks and contribute to the development of appropriate audit approaches for each assignment

  • Review working papers, audit queries, correspondence and reports prepared by the team to ensure compliance with audit plan, procedures, and quality standards

  • Lead and participate in technical audit and accounting matters, escalating where appropriate

  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, supporting effective communication throughout the audit process
