As a Manager, Competitive Intelligence within GCA, you are a trusted thought partner to commercial, marketing, and clinical development leadership. You don't just monitor - you synthesize, connect, and provoke. You translate complex competitor data, clinical trial signals, regulatory events, and earnings intelligence into clear, decision-ready insights that inform portfolio strategy, launch planning, and commercial execution.
You work closely with International Commercial AI leadership, brand and portfolio marketing teams, and cross-functional governance forums to ensure the competitive and external view is always current, credible, and actionable. You are self-directed, rigorous in your analysis, and confident presenting to senior stakeholders.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Competitive Landscape Monitoring & Intelligence
- Continuously monitor the competitive landscape across assigned therapeutic areas and markets - tracking pipeline programs, clinical trial milestones, regulatory submissions and approvals, label updates, pricing, and commercial launches.
- Leverage AI-enabled workflows (including Copilot, Claude, Python automation, and secondary database tools) to accelerate data gathering, pattern detection, and insight generation at scale.
- Maintain up-to-date competitor profiles covering stages, indications, geographies, pivotal trial designs, combination strategies, and anticipated catalysts.
- Track and synthesize competitor congress presentations, earnings calls, investor materials, and KOL commentary to surface strategic signals early.
2. Strategic Analysis & Insight Generation
- Translate complex clinical, regulatory, and commercial data into clear, decision-ready insights for senior commercial, portfolio, and clinical development leadership.
- Lead deep-dive analyses on high-priority competitive topics - assessing competitor competitiveness across stages, indications, and geographies, and mapping implications for Pfizer's commercial and pipeline strategy.
- Apply structured analytical frameworks (SWOT, scenario analysis, competitive benchmarking, portfolio breadth-vs-depth) to generate insight beyond data aggregation.
- Develop and deliver Quarterly Peer Earnings Reports analyzing competitor revenues, earnings call commentary, and strategic signals, for cascading to regional and international commercial leadership.
3. Stakeholder Partnership & Communication
- Act as a trusted thought partner to commercial, marketing, and clinical development teams - proactively sharing intelligence and framing the so-what for ongoing business decisions.
- Prepare and present competitive readouts at cross-functional forums, governance meetings, and congress debriefs, translating technical competitive data into business-relevant narratives.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with brand/portfolio marketing, commercial development, and strategy teams to embed CI into launch planning, operating plans, and strategic reviews.
- Produce executive-ready storyboards and presentations that synthesize complex external intelligence into concise, visually compelling outputs for senior leadership.
4. Launch Intelligence & Market Strategy Support
- Support commercial teams with launch excellence intelligence - covering competitor go-to-market approaches, pricing and access strategies, launch sequencing, and market dynamics across international markets.
- Contribute competitive insight to tender and contracting strategies, providing market intelligence that informs high-value bid decisions across products and markets.
- Develop CI frameworks covering launch excellence, affordability, and regulatory strategy, and partner with brand and commercial development teams to embed CI into planning cycles.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Business, Economics, or a related field. MBA or postgraduate degree in a relevant discipline preferred.
Experience:
- 6+ years of progressive experience in competitive intelligence, market research, strategy, or commercial analytics - preferably within the pharmaceutical, biotech, or healthcare sector.
- Demonstrated ability to monitor complex competitive landscapes and synthesize multi-source intelligence into decision-ready insights for senior commercial and clinical stakeholders.
- Strong command of secondary CI research methods - clinical trial databases, regulatory intelligence sources, earnings monitoring, pipeline trackers, and congress intelligence.
- Experience designing and delivering structured analytical frameworks for competitive assessment: scenario planning, benchmarking, portfolio analysis, launch excellence, and go-to-market strategy.
- Proven track record of preparing and presenting executive-level competitive readouts and storyboards to cross-functional and senior leadership audiences.
- Experience partnering with brand/portfolio marketing, commercial development, and clinical teams to embed competitive intelligence into strategic planning cycles.
- Working familiarity with AI-enabled workflows and automation tools (e.g., Copilot, Claude, Python scripting) to accelerate research and insight delivery.
- Strong project management skills - able to independently own end-to-end CI projects including scoping, vendor management, quality control, and timely delivery.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- MBA or advanced degree in Business, Life Sciences, Strategy, or a related field.
- Experience in international or emerging markets commercial intelligence - with familiarity with ex-US regulatory pathways, pricing and access dynamics, and regional competitive nuances.
- Hands-on experience with primary CI methodologies: KOL interviews, advisory boards, and primary research vendor management.
- Exposure to oncology competitive landscapes - including pipeline analysis, clinical trial strategy, ADC combinations, or immuno-oncology positioning.
- Experience building or scaling a CI capability within an organization - developing frameworks, embedding CI into planning processes, and enabling teams through training or workshops.
- Familiarity with tenders and contracting intelligence in international markets.
- Proficiency in data visualization and presentation tools; experience using structured storyboarding for executive communication.
- Certification or coursework in competitive intelligence, strategic analysis, or a related discipline (e.g., SCIP, Harvard Business Impact, or equivalent).
