Primary Function

The Manager Advance & Expense plays a critical role in the financial operations of the company. The purpose of this role is to provide leadership and oversight to the Advance Management team, with a focus on managing the general ledger to system comparison, monitoring expenses to identify business losses, and ensuring the accuracy and compliance of advance and expense processes. The Manager Advance & Expense will be responsible for analyzing and resolving the general ledger to system outages to ensure that the general ledger is accurate and in compliance with company policies and procedures. This individual will also monitor processes to identify any business losses and work with internal departments and suppliers to resolve any discrepancies or issues related to expenses. This individual will be responsible for implementing and enforcing expense management policies and procedures, as well as leading process improvement initiatives to streamline the expense management process and minimize business losses.

As a leader, the Manager Advance & Expense will be expected to manage and mentor team members to ensure their professional development and growth. This individual will also be responsible for preparing reports and providing insights on expense performance and trends to senior management, which will help the Servicing Financial Control department make informed decisions. Overall, the Manager Advance & Expense will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and compliance of the company's financial information, as well as in providing leadership and oversight to the Advance Management team. This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Principal Duties

  • Analyze and resolve general ledger to system balances to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies and procedures
  • Monitor processes to identify and address any business losses
  • Provide oversight to the general expense and advance processes, including tracking expenses and processing advances and reimbursements
  • Implement and enforce expense management policies and procedures to ensure compliance with company guidelines
  • Work closely with internal departments and suppliers to resolve any discrepancies or issues related to expenses
  • Prepare reports and provide insights on expense performance and trends to senior management
  • Develop and maintain an effective system of internal controls to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial information
  • Lead process improvement initiatives related to expense management and advance processes
  • Manage and mentor team members to ensure their professional development and growth
  • Performs related duties as assigned by management.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 6-8 years Mortgage Servicing experience
  • 4+ years supervisory experience

Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Requirements

  • Proficient working knowledge of Microsoft SQL, Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent time management skills to complete multiple deadlines with minimal supervision
