The incumbent is responsible to assist the Senior Manager to define and implement appropriate Actuarial standard and work processes in relation to the provision of actuarial services of the Company. Actuarial knowledge and skills are necessary in various aspects of insurance business, e.g. product design and pricing, analysis of the company’s claims, persistency and expense experience to set pricing assumptions, arrangement of reinsurance, calculation of reserves and
profit reporting under various regulatory bases to assess financial health of a new product.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Delivery of experience studies and provide actuarial support for management actions arising from the management of the in‑force business. This includes producing monthly and quarterly experience monitoring and performing in‑depth analysis of experience trends and key drivers.
  • Coordinate the preparation of the Financial Condition Report by working with relevant stakeholders to provide analytical inputs, experience analysis, stress testing, and supporting documentation for the assessment of the company’s financial condition, risks, and sustainability.
  • Provide actuarial and financial analysis to support reinsurance management, including experience monitoring, review of reinsurance effectiveness, support for renewals, and assessment of reinsurance impacts on capital, solvency, and risk profile.
  • Provide financial analysis and actuarial technical support for a range of company initiatives, including but not limited to the implementation of new BNM guidelines, Group Office standards, assumption reviews, business planning projections, and preparation of materials for management and committee presentations.
  • Identify improvement opportunities across governance, data quality, and actuarial processes, and enhance data analytics capabilities to generate deeper insights and support informed decision‑making.
  • Communicate actuarial findings, insights, and implications clearly and effectively to management and relevant stakeholders.
  • Provide coaching, guidance, and on‑the‑job development to team members to strengthen technical capability, ensure consistent delivery quality, and build succession within the team.

JOB SPECIFICATION:
Qualifications:

  • Degree in Actuarial Science/ Mathematics/ Statistics/ Physics or other physical sciences or numerate discipline.
  • Actively pursuing professional actuarial examinations

Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of actuarial work experience

Knowledge:

  • A numerate and analytical mind.
  • Proficiency with programming tools (e.g. Visual Basic)
  • Practical knowledge in Prophet (preferred) or other projection software would be preferred but training will be provided otherwise.
  • Must be meticulous with the ability to work under pressure.
  • Must be self-motivated with the ability to work under minimum supervision
