The Manager, Accounts Receivable (A/R) is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the accounts receivable function to ensure timely and accurate billing, collections, and cash application. This role provides leadership to the A/R team, establishes and enforces policies and procedures, and partners with internal departments to resolve billing issues and improve processes. The Manager ensures compliance with organizational standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices while driving efficiency, accuracy, and customer service excellence.
The ideal candidate brings strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of A/R operations, and the ability to analyze data, resolve complex issues, and support organizational financial goals.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:Manages non-medical accounts receivable and billing administrative functions and staff.
  • Ensures timely and accurate preparation and delivery of customer invoices.
  • Ensures payments are applied promptly and accurately.
  • Prepares contract rate changes and additions within ERP software to ensure correct month-end billing processes.
  • Prepares month-end billing records and oversees month end revenue recognition processes.
  • Monitors outstanding AR balances, unapplied payments, and credit balances to ensure timely handling to meet the needs of the organization and its customers.
  • Manages the employee receivable function organization-wide.
  • Reviews and recommends customer accounts for potential collection activities.
  • Monitors outstanding receivables and develops strategies to reduce aging.
  • Prepares reports required by various contracts and agencies.
  • Verifies general ledger and accounts receivable subsidiary balances monthly.
  • Collaborates with business partners in departments such as Youth Care, Healthcare, Support Services, and Legal.
  • Develops, implements, and maintains AR policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Identifies opportunities to streamline processes, reduce errors, and improve automation.
  • Ensures invoicing and collection procedures comply with regulatory and legal standards.
  • Leads, mentors, and develops the AR team, providing coaching, training, and performance feedback.
  • Responsible for the coordination of the AR record retention process.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, AR best practices, and internal controls.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Proficiency with accounting/ERP systems.
  • Proficiency in Excel and financial reporting tools.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Business Administration, Finance, or Accounting required.
  • Minimum 5 years of proven work experience, including accounts receivable, billing, collections management required.
  • Demonstrated financial reporting experience, specifically with general ledger analysis related to accounts receivable activities required
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience with accounting software, specifically ERP software platform(s) required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Minimum 2 years supervisory experience preferred.
  • Workday system experience preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS, EQUIPMENT USAGE, WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • Position is relatively sedentary in a normal office administrative environment involving minimum exposure to physical risks.  Will use office equipment such as a computer/laptop, monitor, keyboard, and a general workstation set-up.
