We are looking for you to join our team as General Manufacturing Manager 1 to support production and manufacturing operations at our Central Virginia manufacturing facilities.

The General Manufacturing Manager 1 will have organizational responsibility for assemblers. The primary mission is to meet or exceed customer requirements by providing quality products on time and within program cost targets, while promoting a lean manufacturing environment.

What You'll Get to Do:

  • Provide support, leadership, and direction in areas such as: Technical Guidance, Process Development, Career Development, Continuous Improvement, Capacity Planning, Capital & Facility Planning, Cost/ Benefit Analysis, Manpower Planning, Staffing, AS9100 and all auditable processes

  • Provide directions to employees following company procedures, management guidelines, and general policies

  • Drive employee efficiency

  • Meet product cost and schedule targets

  • Manage department budgets

  • Manage the area to produce quality products

  • Attract, retain and develop talent and execute a cohesive strategy to create an inclusive culture and build an engaged workforce

Basic Qualifications for the General Manufacturing Manager:

  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing or production environment OR a Master's degree with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing or production environment; will also consider a minimum of 9 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 7 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment with an Associate's degree.

  • At least one year of experience managing or leading people or projects

  • Experience in MS Office software applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, etc.)

  • The ability to obtain and maintain a US Secret Level Security clearance

  • U.S. Citizenship is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience managing in a manufacturing/assembly environment

  • Experience with SAP or other Material Requirements Planning (MRP) system for business

  • Prior program, project and/or people leadership/management and cross-functional process improvement experience

  • Lean or Green Belt certified

Primary Level Salary Range: $86,300.00 - $129,500.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
