Role Purpose
The focus of the Management Accountant is to provide support for the Agency Financial Controller and the rest of the Agency Finance team in reporting the expenses, cashflow and financial position for the Agency entities.
The Management Accountant will be expected to work across multiple entities covering UK, Europe and Middle East. Management reporting will be under US GAAP, but local reporting will be under IFRS and UK GAAP where applicable.
Collaboration with colleagues in other areas of the business and group companies is expected to help facilitate the reporting requirements.
Key Responsibility
- Preparation of monthly Management Accounts including accruals, prepayments & cost allocations.
- Production of quarterly balance sheet reconciliations with supporting documentation.
- Assist with monthly/quarterly P&L forecasts.
- Preparation of GOE analysis and cashflow forecasts.
- Assist with the inter-company control accounts.
- Production of consolidation schedules for parent company.
- Assist with Expense Reporting where required.
- Assist with audit queries where required.
- Assist with new ledger implementation where required.
- Assist with the Corporate Card journal process.
- Provide support where necessary for other areas such as fee income.
- Assist with the preparation of annual budgets.
Qualifications, skills and experience
Essential
- Qualified Accountant with several years post qualification experience.
- Exposure and understanding of ERP implementations.
- Ability to work across multiple work environments as we transition to a new ERP.
- Ability to manage time effectively amidst multiple competing workstreams and tight deadlines.
- Comfortable working across multiple entities.
- Ability to collaborate with team members and others in the wider business.
- Exposure to regulated working environment.
- Strong, efficient communication skills both written and oral.
- Problem solving mindset.
- Advanced Excel capability (x-lookups, pivot tables).
- Attention to detail and ability to work with large data sets.
Desirable
- Insurance industry experience.
- Experience with Anaplan, SUN & Workday.
- Understanding of AI capabilities to improve efficiencies.
