Job Summary
Responsible for leading the mechanical engineering scope of the Power Uprate projects. Ensures high-quality design, modification, and testing of mechanical systems while maintaining compliance with NRC requirements, industry codes, and Vistra standards. Coordinates with EPC partners, OEMs, and site engineering to deliver reliable, constructible, and safe mechanical solutions that integrate seamlessly into plant infrastructure.Job Description
Key Accountabilities
- Lead mechanical engineering scope for multi-billion-dollar EPU projects, ensuring safety, quality, and schedule adherence.
- Direct and review mechanical system designs, ensuring compliance with ASME, NRC, and fleet standards.
- Coordinate with EPC contractors, OEMs, and site engineering to ensure system compatibility and constructability.
- Support Owner’s Engineer and independent third-party reviews, validating design quality and operational readiness.
- Provide technical leadership in resolving mechanical design issues to maintain outage and project milestones.
- Ensure mechanical modifications support long-term operability, maintainability, and integration into plant systems.
Education, Experience, & Skill Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (required); Mechanical preferred
- 10+ years of nuclear engineering experience, with 5+ years in mechanical systems design, modification, or major projects.
- Direct experience with Extended Power Uprates, large-scale plant modifications, or equivalent projects.
- Strong knowledge of NRC, INPO, ASME, and ANSI codes and standards.
- Demonstrated ability to lead discipline-specific teams and interface with EPCs, OEMs, and site staff.
- Experience supporting regulatory submittals and responding to NRC/INPO questions preferred.

- Minimal corrective actions from reviews or audits.
- Strong coordination with EPCs, OEMs, and site engineering.
