Join our Services team within Rotating Equipment Services division in Ontario as a Journey-person Machinist to help us take Sulzer Rotating Equipment Services (Canada) Ltd., to the next level.
In this role, working under limited supervision, you will:
- Set-up and operate conventional machine tools as directed; Perform layouts
- Read and interpret drawings, including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing
- Use proper machining techniques: setup feeds and speeds for both carbide and high-speed steel cutting tools per standard operating procedures and methods
- Manufacture or repair product on time as defined by direct supervisor and production schedule.
- Improve methods for higher quality and improved costs
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- Completion of a related apprenticeship program preferred
- Working knowledge and ability to effectively set-up all or most of the following machines: Engine Lathe, Milling Machine, Radial Drill, Horizontal Boring Mill, Vertical Boring Mill
- CNC machine tool experience an asset
- Working knowledge of tool geometry and application
- Working knowledge of effects of feeds and speeds on alloy materials
- Ability to work overtime as required
