Ultradent, is looking for a Machinist with an open mindset geared toward innovating traditional machining processes in a machine shop environment. This is a rewarding position that collaborates closely with our machinists and engineers to optimize design, CAM programming, and machinability of automation components. This is also a challenging job with a focus on fast turn-around times to facilitate rapid testing and iteration cycles of prototype parts. Some of the attributes of this role include:

  • Collaborating closely with customers to optimize design and machinability

  • Machining one-off automation components

  • Improving CAM techniques to decrease programming time

  • Operate a CNC mill and lathe including setting up tools and fixtures, to create simple or complex features or modifications from a print using machining fundamentals and best practices

  • Use an existing Solidworks model to program parts using GibbsCAM

HOW WE WILL HELP YOU

You will work with a multi-disciplinary team of experienced Machinists and Engineers who will help you learn skills that will make you a world class CNC Machinist. Here is a partial list of the things you will learn with us:

  • General Machining – learn to read prints, cut raw material from stock, set tools, set work holding

  • Manual Machining – learn to create simple parts and modifications using a manual mill and lathe

  • CNC Machining– learn to run state-of-the art 3 and 5-axis CNC machines to make prototype parts come to life

  • CAM Programming– learn to run and create CNC programs from automation part files designed by our engineering teams

  • Engineering fundamentals – learn about material selection, fits, tolerances, and motion component design.

  • Teamwork – we will help you learn how to work on a team to achieve things no one person could do alone.
