The Role

Description

The Machinist is responsible for producing high-precision fab parts across a variety of CNC machines.

  • Set up, operate, and troubleshoot CNC machines (Haas, Mazak), including 3-axis machines, 5-axis machines, horizontal mills, and lathes. 
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and GibbsCAM files to execute machining tasks.
  • Perform precise machining operations to create parts that meet exact specifications and tolerances within +/- 0.005”. 
  • Inspect and verify parts using precision measuring tools (e.g., calipers, FARO) to ensure adherence to strict quality standards.
  • Assist with in-process deburr as parts complete machining operations. 
  • Follow established safety protocols, wear all required PPE, and maintain a clean, organized work area.
  • Conduct routine maintenance on machines to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime. Check calibration status of assigned tools and equipment. 
  • Maintain a work record. 
  • Perform all other tasks as assigned. 

Requirements

  • US Citizenship or Permanent Resident status. 
  • Minimum 1 year of machining experience and/or relevant technical training program. 
  • Ability to read and comprehend drawings, quality documents, etc. 
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of GD&T. 
  • Excellent time management with the ability to multitask and prioritize work in a fast-paced, schedule-driven environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

Preferred, But Not Required:

  • Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds; occasionally need to lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
  • Ability to stand or sit for long periods of time; walk and stoop, kneel or crouch.
  • Experience with multi-axis machining for high-tolerance parts. 
  • Familiarity with relevant materials (e.g., 6061 aluminum, copper, specialty plastics, etc.).
