Job Summary
Responsible for executing predetermine methods to package product by the press or store as work in process. Performs visual inspections to detect obvious defects and maintains box counts to document the quantity of product being produced.
Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities
Packages products at the press by following predetermine methods to minimize error.
Consistently meets production requirements.
Empties catch totes into gaylord where packaging at the press is not specified.
Performs basic visual inspection of product and report any quality defects to the shift supervisor.
Packages and labels. Keeps production area clean in order to promote a safe and neat work environment.
Reads production schedules, work orders, and component drawings to assure product quality.
Reports any and all safety violations to the shift supervisor to ensure the working environment is free from safety hazards.
Engages in the daily operator maintenance program such as basic oiling of machines.
Collects data for Production Boards.

Refers complex, unusual problems to supervisor.
Under general supervision, exercises some judgment in accordance with well-defined policies, procedures, and techniques. Work typically involves regular review of output by a senior coworker or supervisor.

Work Environment
Typically located in a comfortable indoor area. There may be regular exposure to mild physical discomfort from factors, such as dust, fumes or odors, temperature extremes, loud noise, strong drafts, or bright lights.
Requires intermittent periods during which continuous physical exertion is required, such as walking, standing, stooping, climbing, lifting, and maneuvering material or equipment that may be heavy (50+ pounds) or awkward.
Typically requires overnight travel less than 5% of the time.
Education and Experience
HS Diploma or GED strongly preferred. Specialized skills training/certification may be required. Generally 2-5 years of experience in area of responsibility.
