Job Summary

Production of Poly–ISO Insulation to published specifications. Tasks include operation of gang saws, robotic stackers, and packaging equipment. Knowledge of processing specifications, operation of production equipment, calculation of output square feet, sheet length, and linear feet. Other skills include the ability to read tape measures.  Operation of forklifts.

 Pay Range: $24.00 - $25.00

 Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Equipment setup, and upkeep of gang saws and associated equipment.
  • Operate and troubleshoot robotic stacker control consoles and stacking station.
  • Ability to do changeovers and adjust manual saws as needed.
  • Communicate product attributes to process operator for correction.
  • Verify accuracy of productivity and counts. (Finished goods and scrap).
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues and eliminate down time on robots.
  • Ability to set-up for substrates.
  • Ability to sort rejects and reclaim good material from reject stacks.
  • Ensure quality and proper makings.
  • Housekeeping of plant inside and out.
  • Assist in training of new team members.
  • Fill in other areas of the plant as required.

Required Skills/Abilities/Knowledge:

  • Knowledge and certified in Lock-Out-Tag-Out program.
  • Forklift Certified.
  • Knowledge of processing specifications and quality standards for products.
  • Knowledge of safety aspects of all equipment as well as the plant's general safety policies.
  • Understanding the impact of sending incorrect/defective product.
  • Ability to operate mobile equipment safely.

Equipment Used:

  • Equipment Operated - Forklifts, laminator, gang saws, robotic equipment & packaging equipment.
  • Tools Required - Various hand tools and required PPE as needed.
  • Data Used – Production schedule, scrap report.
  • Inter-personnel Skills - including the ability to be a team player, the ability to pass on information and training of others.

Working Conditions:

  • Activities occur inside an insulation manufacturing facility.  Job includes but are not limited to exposure to the following:
    • Temperatures exposed to both Ambient/outside temperatures.
    • Nuisance dust, use of chemicals, working with mechanical parts, pinch points.
    • Noise of industrial machinery
  • Typically 40 hours per week with overtime as required

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent

Skills Required

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Lock-Out-Tag-Out program knowledge and certification
  • Forklift certification
  • Knowledge of processing specifications and product quality standards
  • Knowledge of equipment safety and plant safety policies
  • Ability to operate mobile equipment safely
  • Ability to read tape measures and perform production calculations
