POSITION SUMMARY
Machine learning is the enabler for every financial service that EarnIn provides to its community members. We are going through transformative investments in machine learning platforms and algorithms. We aim to lead the innovation and operational excellence in machine learning for the fintech industry. We seek talented and motivated students and recent graduates with a strong background in software engineering, machine learning, and AI frameworks, as well as workflows, to join our 12-week Machine Learning Internship Program. You will work on real-world projects, collaborate with experienced professionals, gain valuable experience in the fintech industry, and realize business and social impact. This role requires hybrid work from our Mountain View office, with three days a week in-person. This internship will pay $40 an hour with an expected 40 hours of work per week for the 12-week program.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Contribute to developing and maintaining EarnIn’s AI and ML platform and tooling.
- Collaborate with ML engineers to streamline model training, deployment, and reproducibility.
- Build and onboard strong, off-the-shelf machine learning and deep learning models, making them easy for all ML teams to use.
- Improve platform scalability, reliability, and cost-efficiency.
- Collaborate with the machine learning teams to design, build, and maintain the ML and AI platform and tools.
- Help evaluate and integrate new technologies that strengthen ML capabilities.
- Gain hands-on experience with tools and infrastructure, including PyTorch, AWS, Kafka, and Databricks.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Solid software engineering fundamentals and understanding of ML workflows.
- Strong programming skills in Python and experience with ML libraries (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, XGBoost, LightGBM).
- Familiarity with data tools like Spark, Pandas, NumPy, and SQL.
- Strong problem-solving and collaboration skills.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
