The Role

Machine Learning Engineers in the Antifraud team are responsible for a multitude of projects and are expected to work independently, assist their teammates, and mentor junior developers. You will also be expected to collaborate across multiple workstreams and roles, such as architects, program management leads, and engineering leads within the Technology Group. Additionally, you will leverage AI-driven solutions to enhance fraud detection, implement intelligent automation for anomaly detection, and build predictive models that adapt to emerging fraud patterns, driving continuous improvements in fraud prevention strategies.

Responsibilities:

• Understanding business objectives and design and develop ML models that help to achieve them.
• Implementing appropriate ML algorithms and tools;
• Develop and implement AI-powered models for detecting and preventing fraudulent activities, utilizing machine learning algorithms to identify patterns and anomalies in large datasets.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate AI-based fraud detection tools into existing systems, ensuring continuous improvement of fraud prevention strategies through real-time data analysis.
• Selecting appropriate datasets and data representation methods.
• Exploring and visualizing data to gain an understanding of it, then organizing data to support the implementation of ML models.
• Verifying data quality, and/or ensuring it via data cleaning.
• Defining the pre-processing or feature engineering to be done on a given dataset.
• Defining validation strategies and performing statistical analysis and fine-tuning using validation results.
• Developing ML libraries and frameworks.
• Documenting models assumptions, parameters and validation results.
• Analysing the errors of the model and designing strategies to overcome them.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field;
• Experience with AI-driven tools and frameworks;
• Strong knowledge of machine learning algorithms and their application to fraud detection, including supervised and unsupervised learning, anomaly detection, and predictive modeling techniques;
• Extensive data modelling and data architecture skills;
• Self-starter with the ability to pro-actively find solutions;
• High level of integrity, confidentiality and ownership;
• Excellent teamwork skills;
• Experience working in an agile environment;
• Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills;
• Be engaged to continuous knowledge development regarding ML best practices, tools and techniques;
