The Role

Become a part of our caring community and help us put health first

The M&A Lead identifies, analyzes, makes recommendations, and negotiates potential mergers, acquisitions, investments and divestitures to support Humana’s and CenterWell’s growth objectives. The M&A Lead frequently has end to end responsibility for the M&A deal lifecycle and works on problems of diverse scope and complexity, many of which have enterprise implications.

The M&A Leads on the Corporate Development team are senior members of the team who are responsible for managing the deal model, conducting appropriate due diligence, liaising with third party advisors, (e.g. investment bankers, consultants, accountants and attorneys), providing periodic deal updates to senior members of the company, seeking formal investment committee or board approval, and ensuring a transaction process runs smoothly through closing. The M&A Lead role works closely with other senior members of Corporate Development, Humana’s Management Team, and business segment leadership teams. The Lead is often critical in making recommendations regarding the impact of possible mergers, acquisitions, investments and divestitures on Humana’s and CenterWell’s strategy and profitability.

As Leads become more senior in the role, they are often involved in articulating the company’s strategic M&A initiatives, either at the enterprise or business segment level. The Lead helps advance these strategic M&A initiatives by identifying, researching, analyzing, and making recommendations for inorganic options that positively impact the company’s strategy.
