Job Description:
Position Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated Intern to join our Mergers & Acquisitions team. This internship is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in mergers and acquisitions within the energy industry. You will work closely with experienced professionals to support transaction analysis, market research, financial modeling, and due diligence efforts.
Responsibilities
- Assist in evaluating M&A opportunities by conducting industry research, financial analysis, and competitive benchmarking 
- Build and maintain financial models (DCF, comparable companies, precedent transactions) 
- Support due diligence processes, including data room management and coordination with internal and external stakeholders 
- Prepare presentation materials for internal investment committees and senior leadership 
- Analyze trends in the energy markets and assess their impact on acquisition strategies 
- Collaborate across functions including Finance, Strategy, Legal, and Operations 
Basic Qualifications
- Currently enrolled and pursuing a four-year degree in finance or accounting 
Desired Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Engineering, or related field 
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills 
- Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint 
- familiarity with financial modeling is preferred 
- Interest in the energy sector and corporate strategy 
- Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment 
- Prior internship or academic experience in investment banking, private equity, consulting, or corporate finance 
- Have and maintain a 3.0 GPA or higher 
Working Conditions
- This position is located in Charlotte, NC or may be remote 
- 10 to 15 hours per week
